Protecting kids from abuse


ALBUQUERQUE (KASA) – The governor will sign off on a new law to protect older children against sexual abuse. It is called “Erin’s Law” and it is about teaching children what to do if they’re sexually abused.

Up until now, there were no laws requiring school districts to teach kids how to protect themselves.

Erin Merryn was sexually abused, and she launched the nationwide campaign to mandate sexual abuse and assault education in schools.

We spoke to Angela Williams who is an expert on the issue.
