ALBUQUERQUE (KASA) – Max the poodle will soon be reunited with his owner after almost two years on the run. He and his owner were living in Albuquerque when Max headed south for Belen and was not to be seen again until just a few weeks ago. That’s when he was picked up as a stray and brought to the Animal Humane New Mexico shelter. Caregivers scanned him for a microchip and discovered he was not just a stray, but had an owner in town.
His owner, now living in Texas, will be meeting up with an Animal Humane worker and have the long awaited reunion.
Animal Humane workers stress this is a good example of why having a microchip inserted on pets can mean the difference of reuniting with a lost pet or having them gone for good.
