Mad about the Maverick! Likes: Love the remote check in. Room was nice— we didn’t mind the low platform bed. Nice amenities, very clean. Didn’t have much contact with the staff (reception desk was only there when we were leaving since we arrived late), but she was friendly. Easy free parking in front of building (Saturday night to Sunday). Dislikes: Neighborhood, while quiet, was a little intimidating (dark). During the week, parking might be more difficult, not sure.

We stumbled across The Maverick by Kasa online and made reservations for one night based on pictures, location, and reviews. The negative reviews focused on the contactless check in, but we hoped we were savvy enough to figure it out. Apparently Kasa is also reading those negative reviews because they had just started staffing the lobby with a Kasa employee, and Caroline was a huge help with the check in process. The hotel itself is fabulous. We love the history of the 1909 YMCA building. The lobby is so cool, and we hung out and talked with our kids for a long time Friday night. The gym is a time capsule! Our room was clean, comfortable, and interesting - certainly not your typical, boring chain hotel room. The bathroom especially is a nod to the building's history with retro tiles, lights, and color choices. Linens and bathroom products were high quality. We LOVED our stay and will absolutely stay there again!
