The Mint House Downtown Washington DC The Mint House Downtown Washington DC was the perfect location for our girls trip. We were really close to the Metro station and within walking distance to the White House and many tourist attractions. Lots of great places to eat also within walking distance. Our rooms were perfect for our needs and very clean. The person manning the front desk was very friendly and helpful. All responses to my texted questions were also answered immediately. Overall, I would highly recommend this location if you are traveling to DC.

Great location and great space for our family Likes: The location was great and convenient and safe and close to Metro stops, food, and sites. Our room was very large and very nice very modern very clean. We had two bedrooms, a kitchenette, two bathrooms and a living room room with a sleeper sofa and we had more than enough space for our family of five to fit comfortably. Dislikes: Honestly, it was wonderful.

The apartment was clean and well stocked with all the essentials for our two‑day stay, including dishes, cookware, toiletries, and laundry pods. Check‑in and checkout were smooth. The sofa bed wasn’t very comfortable, but overall it was a good experience.

Getting around D.C. is easy and convenient, whether you prefer walking, biking, or using public transit. Walking is ideal for exploring the nearby National Mall, while bike rentals are available for those who want to navigate the city at their own pace. If you're looking to travel farther, driving or rideshare services are also great options. Please note that our property does not have on-site parking, so plan your trip accordingly if you’re bringing your own vehicle.

For public transit, the Metrorail (subway) is the most efficient way to get around, with trains running from early morning until midnight (later on weekends). The Metrobus network covers areas not served by rail and is eco-friendly and extensive, making it a great option for getting around the city.

If you're coming by train, Union Station is easily accessible and serves both Amtrak and Metro Rail, providing connections to many other cities and regions. For air travel, Reagan National Airport is the closest, just a short drive away (about 4 miles), while Dulles International Airport is a good option for long-haul flights (about 25 miles away).
