As a travel agent, I was honestly disappointed with a few things about our stay. First, parking was a bit frustrating. We got lucky and found street parking, but I can see how this could be an inconvenience for other guests, especially since you have to look around the area for a spot and pay for street parking.
My biggest issue, though, was the noise detection system inside the rooms. We received two separate text notifications about noise, and we were honestly confused. The first was around 5:30 PM when all we had on was the TV and some music at a pretty reasonable volume. The other time, I was simply blow-drying my hair. It made us uncomfortable because we felt like we had to tiptoe around the room and constantly worry about getting another notification.
I understand that hotels want to prevent excessive noise, but I think there needs to be more transparency about these devices. Are they only measuring decibel levels, or is there any way conversations are being captured? As a guest, I would want to know exactly what is being monitored and how my privacy is protected.
Aside from that, the property itself was clean and nice, and the staff were friendly when we arrived. Unfortunately, the noise notifications really took away from our experience, and I don’t feel like we were able to fully relax and enjoy our stay. As someone who works in the travel industry and helps clients choose accommodations, privacy, comfort, and the overall guest experience are all things I take seriously. I hope management takes this feedback into consideration, because the property has potential, but this was definitely disappointing.
