8/10 Very good
TLDR; decent hotel with a few confusing quirks.
Booked here for a weekend with my parents for a chance to see my sister in town. Check in was a breeze and the staff were wonderful so I had high hopes going into our room.
The room itself was “interesting” to say the least. I know it’s a historic location, but the layout still seemed a bit odd. Bathroom was adjoined to the living area with a sink while the shower was off the bedroom area. While the items in the room were clean, the walls and pipes had a fine layer of dust that unfortunately played poorly with my allergies.
I thought the vinyl player and the added oddities like the guitar were a nice touch, and the beds, while low to the floor and a bit too firm, came with these wonderful quilts.
Breakfast was a simple, continental fare and quite good. Unfortunately had a poor experience with the coffee shop connected as they didn’t mention that the “bacon an egg sandwich” also may have contained tree nuts, but that’s a different story.
Overall, I’d say if you’re down for an experience and would love something with a bit more flavor than you average chain hotel, you won’t go too wrong with this funky spot. However, as other reviews point out, if you’re looking for a more traditional experience, look elsewhere.
