The only redeeming feature of this hotel is the staff working it.
The $200/night rooms do not have their own bathroom. This is apparently an "affordable service" they offer, and not just a money grab. Because I know when I'm looking to cut costs, sharing a bathroom with 7 other rooms is at the top of the list of my preferred options. To get a room with a bathroom is an additional $100/night. So, for $300/night you get a room that is small by Manhattan standards, a shower stall, and toilet put literally in the closet.
Parking is not included, $34/night, two blocks away and completely unsecured. After the $100 bathroom upsell, I got a lovely 8am wake up call that during a tour of their parking lot my car had, indeed, been broken into. The staff had a number of local auto glass companies to recommend immediately, which is both nice and a sign that this has happened repeatedly but management still doesn't care. When I asked why the parking lot was not monitored, I was told that would up the daily parking rates to over $60/day. Another sign that management looked at it, decided they did not want to go past the minimum to ensure their guests' safety and that they didn't think guests would pay the additional usurious cost themselves (accurate) and instead hire staff that were good at being apologetic instead.
Bottom line: you are better off going to a motel 6, paying 1/4 of the price for a larger room where a toilet isn't a "luxury option". Their parking lot security is undoubtedly better too.
