Every once in a while, you have an experience so laughable that you have to tell someone about it. This is that review.
My guess is you've probably just looked at hotels up and down the island around Boca, and this one caught your eye. It's priced significantly less than the other hotels, but the pictures look good, so you've clicked on the reviews to see more. Welcome, let me tell you about my experience:
- When you first walk onto the property, you will see a valet with fancy cars around. I have no idea whose vehicles these are or why, if they're loaded, they would choose to stay at this property.
- After an odd check-in experience, you will walk through a refurbished, but dirty hotel. Both elevators will be operational, if you're lucky.
- When you get to your room, it will either smell a little off (expect ammonia as this hotel is very pet friendly) and be damp 24/7, but if you squint, it will vaguely resemble what's in the picture.
- When you're ready to use the pool, you will realize that the pool area is rather small for a hotel of this size, but it won't matter anyway because they ran out of pool towels a few hours ago. They'll get a delivery of fresh linen in a few hours. Oh well, to the beach!
- Chairs and umbrellas run about $15 each. It's worth it and it's nice. Easily one of the best parts of my stay.
- After a few hours on the beach, you've started to get hungry. Let's look around to find somewhere to eat. There is a small restaurant attached to the hotel, and nothing else for about 3 miles. Good luck.
- We made the mistake of trying to eat chips on the beach and were told no outside food was allowed because "it's a resort."
I made the mistake of asking for a plastic fork and was told it would cost me a dollar.
In short, yes, this place is priced less. While it looks nice, you should expect less and expect to be nickel-and-dimed.
