Horrible stay in Kasa La Monarca
Likes: Good location, very close to Union Square, cable cars, and public transportation. Restaurants, pubs, shops in a short distance.
Dislikes: I'm truly disappointed with our stay at Kasa La Monarca, and I would rate this experience as rather dreadful. We stayed in room 604. The room was very humid, smelled of mold, and was extremely cold. The windows didn't seal properly. Even though it was late October, the heating was not working, so we had to sleep in long pants and sweaters. Additionally, there was so much moisture in the room that a towel remained completely wet and didn't have a chance to dry even 24 hours after using it.
We stayed at the hotel for a week, and for 5 days, we had maintenance workers right outside our windows on scaffolding, drilling and painting from morning to evening. Every afternoon when we returned to the room, it was impossible to breathe in the room due to the strong smell of paint or chemicals. Unfortunately, when we opened the room window facing the inner courtyard, we were exposed to the odor from the restaurant's ventilation outlets, which were located in the inner courtyard. Furthermore, the ventilation system was very noisy, making it impossible to sleep until late at night.
During our entire 7-day stay, nobody came to clean our room or replace our towels even once. When I asked the online help desk for towels, they only sent me a code to access the storage room and get them myself 🤦♀️.
There is no reception at the hotel where guests can address their issues. Everything has to be handled through online support, which can sometimes be quite frustrating and time-consuming. I really don't intend to spend my entire vacation constantly dealing with someone on online support!!!
Considering the price we paid for accommodation and the level of service we received for that money, it was more like a total disaster. Never again, and I definitely do not recommend this hotel.
