Such a great stay! The rooms are small but so well designed, cozy, and perfect for a short or longer stay. Our plans were up in the air and the staff was so accommodating, helping us switch rooms when our plans changed without hassles or fees. The location is great, and the parking behind the building was cheap and easy to access. Would absolutely recommend!

This is a gem. Located at the heart of downtown RWC, only a few steps from all kinds of restaurants and 6 minutes walk to Caltrain. Has a large parking in the back, for extra $$ but we always parked overnight only and it was free. The hotel itself is super nice, freshly renovated with all modern design and fixtures. The is no front desk but there was always someone available on the phone and via texts. We reached out about an issue with an AC at like 11pm at night and they solved our issues. Double room is pretty tiny but ok for 2 travellers for 1 or 2 night stay, but absolutely fine for one person. For longer stays their standard king room is definitely better for 2 folks. The only issue I had is trash truck waking us up at 5 in the morning so I’d recommend hotel to stock up on ear plugs and make them available for the guests.

A great little place to stay for a quick business trip.

The room was clean and the location was great! I highly recommend this place. I think the caveat that may be strange for some people is there is nobody to check you in. However, this made it quicker. Checkin no longer requires people! I hope to stay here again!

The Niche in Redwood City is really well located, recommend if you are in the area for a few nights!

The small units are cute, clean, and nice. The location is excellent too! They have noise detectors so the neighbors are very respective to each other and you don't hear noise from neighboring units. I think at some point the AC unit was a bit loud and too strong, but I still slept very well. The staff are also very easy to contact through the phone or text. Would definitely stay again.

If you need a place to stay for a few nights or to just stop & rest, The Nische is the better option compared to most small hotels you’ll find.

Listing was accurate, the place was clean and the instructions were comprehensive to check in! It is fully automated, so as long as you follow the directions, it’s easy to get into the building and your room. The location is hard to beat in the middle of Redwood City downtown. Modern room and the bathroom was nice. The only con is that there is no parking, but the parking is free from 6pm-10am on the street.

Room was great. Very modern, clean with everything I needed. Bathroom was very nice. Newly remodeled and it shows. Was very happy when I first got there. Check in was easy and painless and honestly preferred just getting there, typing in a code and going to my room. No stopping or waiting to check in. Great! Got there and left about an hour after arriving. Got in around 10pm and the room was warm and stuffy so I turned on what looked like a newer Fujitsu split system AC. Controls were easy to use....except it was just a fan, no cool air. I futzed with it for a while, looked up the manual on line as the filter light was red, but it was 11pm at this point and wasn't going to call maintenance as I needed to get to sleep. Opened the window, which was nice and got a nice cool breeze coming through. Great! Tried to go to sleep. Nope. It was a Sunday night, but there was some sort of club open or party or something going on. Yelling, screaming, bass thumping, loud cars going by, weird crunching sounds in the rocks below out my window (on 2nd floor). Just tossed and turned for about an hour. End up shutting the window as I couldn't take all the noise. Tossed and turned throughout the night as the room got hot and stuffy quickly. Bed was pretty comfy. Had coffee the next morning...good selection of coffee pods and teas. For some reason I thought there was some sort of continental breakfast, but no. No worries, ordered "Talk of Broadway" online, walked 5 minutes and picked up it up, so that was nice. So, I really hate giving 3 stars...on the cusp of 4 stars as the the room was great, parking was ok, but good directions. But ultimately, being uncomfortable all night just kind of sucked. Oh...and it's stuck on the soap opera effect on the TV so I couldn't watch more than 2 minutes. I know that's the default setting on all TVs, but personally makes it unwatchable to me. I did like they used Chromecast to just stream what you want. Also, annoying thing not related to my stay, but simply could not leave a review on Hotels.com where I booked this so that was annoying...hence why I'm here. A little all over the place with this review, but that was my experience for 1 night.

Everything you need and nothing you don't for a clean, quiet stay next to everything in downtown Redwood City. Love that there is no smelly hotel carpet or armchairs. Everything is new and hardwood. Having no staff was weird at first but easy to get used to. Highly recommend for the savings compared to other hotels in the area that are much busier and dirtier during COVID.

Kasa In downtown Redwood City was a great place to stay. It was very clean and worth its value. It’s next to tons of restaurants. Everything was done virtually but when I needed help their customer service team is available 24/7 and were very nice and kind and accommodating. Would stay again.

the location was very central, but it was also really loud due to the Caltrain and large parking lot being close by. The room finishings were very nice :)

Stayed at this hotel for a week with my dog. The checkin is all electronic and very efficient. Good location.

Clean hotel room, conveniently located. Parking not included, but mostly available for a small fee in the back lot (free before 10am after 6pm, and Sunday. $1 per hour otherwise.) Room would have benefited from a table or desk space as a private working area.

Simple and modern hostel style hotel. Easy check in and check out, private keypads on all doors. Quiet hours observed, so you can rest. Quick response from management with requests.

Really lovely stay. Kasa was very helpful; my air conditioner broke but they dispatched a technician and fixed it before I’d even had time to lodge a complaint. Room is as comfy as any other hotel room at this price point. Location is really great. Right next to downtown Redwood City, which has a number of great restaurants, and just a 5 min walk to Caltrain.

I stayed here for 9 days, and truly enjoyed it. The location is great, near the redwood city caltrain station and also many nice restaurants. You can always get drinks such as coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby, and there's a laundry room use for free with all the restock you need.

Had a nice stay here while in the area for two nights - room is a little cozy but has everything you need and Redwood City is great!

I was in town for 24 hours and this hotel was perfect. Clean. Cute decor. Had all the needed amenities: white noise machine, clock with charging outlets, bathroom products in full-sizes bottles = better for the planet. Easy to stream tv on your own account. Check in was easy due to clear digital instructions. Comfy bed. Modern feel. Would definitely choose Niche again.

Great for business travel and well valued for what you get compared to surrounding hotels. Small rooms but very clean and minimalistic. Hardwood floors (no carpet) was great. Biggest dislike was how thin the walls were and how loud others could be in the hotel just by opening their doors or walking in the room directly above me. The city's garbage truck also came at 4:30a PM in the morning and even though I was on the 2nd floor it woke me up and sounded like it was right outside my window. I could not get the AC unit to work the 2nd night (could have been user error, but I did get it to work the 2nd night). Considering it was already late after a business dinner, I did not contact the hotel about it and just opened up the windows, which worked. It would be nice if the hotel provided a noise machine or a fan that sleepers can turn on to drown out the noise since the walls are more thin than most hotels. I did appreciate lots of coffee pods in the rooms so I did not have to request more. Waters were nice too. Location - close enough to walk to restaurants. I would stay here again, but maybe bring my noise machine or ear plugs next time.

The hotel was absolutely perfect. We found the instructions for check-in easy and quick. The room was clean and perfect for our quick stay. The only complaint I had was the pillows were extremely uncomfortable. We look forward to visiting again!

One star only because zero stars is not available. No front desk, no room phone, no room service, no accountability. Card in the room asks guests to help do their jobs for them. Plumbing problem caused us to have to change rooms, and they expected us to wait until a same-sized room was available, rather than giving us an immediately available room that was larger. In a few words, they are lazy and greedy.

Unfortunately our stay was shorter than expected due to an AC issue but the support staff was helpful and we came to an agreeable resolution. staff I talked to was great but due to either technical issues or something else call backs did not work well.

Very clean very modern room. It is a three minute walk to the caltrain station if you need to go downtown.

The technology didn't work. I didn't get the email to register, and it took three phone calls to be able to get into my room. But the people on the phone were awesome, and the room was lovely.

we went to redwood city for my father's surgery at kaiser. i coordinated with jugruti and the kasa team as i booked another room for him to stay post surgery and they gave us two opposite doors which is good as i can check on my father more often. they went beyond means to give something for my dad which made our day. really really appreciate what the kasa has done for us and we are looking forward to book a room here in the future. thank you

My stay was great, nice people, nice room. I has an issue with the safe. Every day I locked I when I went to work and every night is was open when I came back. Is it on a timer or something? Nothing was ever missing i just thought it was strange is all. My room had a difficult time cooling down probably because I was on the sunny side of the building. I loved the coffee maker once I figure out how to use it. All in all it was a great stay. Train was close and many restaurants in the area. Thumbs up 👍🏼 Deborah Torrano

Very poor customer experience follow up.

A very wonderful first time experience in a micropod. It had all the necessities and was modern and immaculate. Loved all the technology. It was cozy, clean and no frills.

Must plan ahead for this accommodation- check in is laborious and all automated. No parking!

The hotel was clean and modern. They have many great features in the room that you could mostly need. When I had questions their text system was fast and courteous. Had to figure out the self service system but their directions were very good. I didn't stay long but for the price it was hard to beat!

Super comfortable bed and good value for money. Very clean and everything looked brand new. Location is good for easy access to restaurants etc, but bad due to loud road noise and 7am garbage truck in the mornings. The digital only communication is a bit awkward and we had a few instances of miscommunication. However, all the digital reps and on site staff were friendly and helpful and tried their best to solve issues. The shower leaks as the door isn't sealed at the bottom so you'll probably need some extra towels to mop up after your shower. Hopefully they fix it soon. This place has lots of potential as it had just recently reopened and they are still sorting out teething problems.

Wow! This hotel really exceeded my expectations. The room was totally remodeled in a modern style. They really thought of everything! Each square foot of the room was designed with intention. Although there is no one at the front desk I felt completely supported throughout my stay by the virtual Kasa team. Great location in Redwood City, I enjoyed walking to some local restaurants and coffee shops throughout the weekend. Already looking forward to my next trip!

Really great stay at The Niche! There was a recent renovation so the rooms are nice and modern. Fantastic location in "downtown" Redwood City, walking distance from a lot of restaurants and the Caltrain stop. It's not a typical hotel because there are no staff on site but the lobby area was a great spot to work during the day.

Just stayed here while visiting my employer in Redwood City. The hotel is freshly renovated and looks great. Very clean, pleasant design with no unnecessary frills. Right downtown, close to great restaurants, coffee shops, Whole Foods, etc. The hotel manager also left a welcome note and snacks which I thought was so nice. Phenomenal value!

Wow, what an improvement! I had stayed at this hotel for work several times when it was under the previous management. The hotel is totally upgraded with modern furniture, new paint, smart locks, etc. There's no front desk anymore so you're on your own for check in, but the Kasa folks send detailed instructions so I didn't need anyone to help me get into my room. Great location in downtown Redwood City which is convenient to my work. I will definitely stay here again.

Well designed new spot in a great location, but some kinks to still work out I stayed here right when the hotel had reopened. Everything was new and nicely designed, but there were some issues as well. Some examples: The King room did not have a desk and chair as advertised so there was nowhere to sit or work except the bed. There were some issues with the code for entering my room, but they were resolved after a few attempts with assistance by phone. The tv wouldn’t work and I was told someone would come and fix it but no one showed up all day, and only later did I learn you had to connect the tv to your phone somehow - the room had no instructions or guidance about that. Some of the rooms are quite small like a dorm room. On the plus side the design of the place is nice and the location in town is great. The coffee in the room is good and the bathroom was a good size.

Great location in downtown Redwood City. Easy to walk to cafes, restaurants, and bars. Super clean and newly remodeled rooms. Smartly designed and arranged with everything you need. Lots of parking lots nearby too, that don't charge for overnight parking. Highly recommend!
