"Virtual Check-in" Needs a Makeover
The stay was great, the facilities very comfortable, the price remarkably low. Their business model is to provide great value with comfortable facilities priced incredibly low.
What they don't tell you is that this is accomplished by having no staff visible, anywhere in the experience, although I finally was able to get someone to let us in at the facility.
The "virtual Check-in" was a registration from online hell. This terribly invasive process occurred after they took my credit card when it was too late to back out. I was asked to submit a photograph of my driver's license, provide a current photo of myself, and provide the names and email addresses of my entire family of five. It took 30 minutes of my life before I gave up feeling this is too invasive and a massive violation of online privacy. When I called their 800 number to cancel the stay altogether, they refused a refund, put me on extended hold, and like a car dealership calling the "sales manager", did schedule someone to meet me at the facility for a check-in who photographed my Drivers license and let me in with less than five minutes of effort.
So it is a very comfortable facility and great value. But until they improve the "virtual check-in" process, I will be looking to stay somewhere else and paying a bit more.
