A wonderful stay
Our stay at the Mint House was excellent! The place is beautifully appointed and classically modern looking and the lobby smells amazing. There were a couple of issues upon check-in however they were rectified very quickly. Since we are a family, we needed to use the pullout sofa. The sofa was full of crumbs, and one of the couch cushions was sticky. they came quickly and cleaned it up and also made the bed for us. Anything we needed was a simple text away and we either went downstairs and got it ourselves or it was brought to us. It was so nice having a washer and dryer in the space!
The location worked for us. We used Uber for many outings because it was hot and didn’t feel like walking, but everything could have been easily walkable. Our view from our room was not the best, it overlooked the backside of the building, and we saw the rooftop with all the mechanics, but that wasn’t a dealbreaker for us as we were not in it except to sleep. Yes it is noisy, but you’re in a big city and right in downtown so that is not the hotel’s fault. My kids are used to sleeping with white noise so we just always travel with that anyway, so for us not a deal breaker.
While the hotel does provide you with a lot of amenities like a fully stocked kitchen, the paper towels and toilet paper are very cheap and you end using more than you normally would. Also, there were only two sizes of spoons either very teeny tiny or very large, which made us laugh honestly, but I could see that being annoying. The only other notes I would give would be to improve storage accommodations, especially when you have four people in the space. There were so many places in our room where additional hooks or shelves could have been installed to allow for storage, especially for my children who were using the pullout sofa. Overall, our four night stay was wonderful and we would definitely book again!
