Our room was FILTHY. The AC unit was completely covered in dust, and the floor had dust and hair. I asked the front desk to send someone to clean it. When I came back, it was still just as dirty. It was so dusty it made me sick. The AC unit also did not work properly. One night we were freezing cold no matter how we set the thermostat, and the next night it was very hot. I will be pursuing a refund.

I'll be back! Not fancy, but lovely experience. The building was cool, the cafe was excellent, the staff was very nice, and the amenities were freely provided. Location was perfect as I had a Roseland concert to go to (just be careful at night, but this is no surprise in a big downtown these days) and there were plentiful food options around. Definitely worth the good price.

Low friction stay, didn’t interact with staff at all but didn’t need anything either since it was all able to be handled with self service. Clean property all around but the room ended up pretty stuffy and humid after the day ended, even with the AC on, with no openable window it didn’t circulate the air well, but during winter months i imagine it is perfectly fine. The shared bathroom was not an issue at all because it’s still a single occupancy and a sink is still available in the room, as well as the many bathrooms on each floor, I did not have any contested bathroom breaks. I appreciated the fact I could take care of all the potential costs and deposit prior to my stay online which is very helpful for someone like me with rocky credit history and relies on debit for the majority of purchases.

As someone who visits Portland 3–4 times a year for work, staying at The Clyde Hotel felt like an intentional choice rather than just another booking. It hits that sweet spot of being budget-friendly while still making you feel like you're on a getaway. The location is fantastic, Water Ave Coffee in the lobby has great coffee and a delicious pastry selection, and using Brewery Blocks for parking was both easy and affordable. Highly recommend for both business and vacation travelers!

The restroom was dirty. They didn't clean the rooms during the day. So small. There was no ventilation in the bathroom so the whole room would get humid. The hallway had a weird smell.

Always a wonderful spot The Clyde is my go-to hotel when I visit Portland. This is my third stay there and it was just as lovely as the previous times. It's a beautiful old unique building that has been well taken care of, has always been clean and comfortable. All the staff, from the front desk folks to the cleaners to the text desk line, were warm and kind and helpful. Will definitely be booking here for my next visit!

Great stay in Downtown Portland!

Loved the views, wish they windows were cleaner but it did rain the day of check in so that can be why. Friendly staff and good location to be when exploring the city.

I want to give a BIG shout out to the front desk agent that checked me in during my stay. There was an issue with our originally booked room being SUPER wrecked by the previous guests. And they were ON TOP OF IT! SUPER communicative. There ended up being an issue with the ac in that room and they were able to get us switched smoothly and tested the ac themselves!! The room was perfectly crips the whole stay!

Staying at the Clyde was convenient for us but I dont feel like the experience lived up to the price point. We liked their efforts to maintain the integrity of the historic building they’re in. It made for a somewhat awkward stay though. The shower is separate from the sink which is separate from the toilet. The shower has a curtain but no door. The shower curtain itself was many inches too long, so got water on the floor when moved. And we had to move it a lot because there was no shelf for products in the shower itself - we put everything on the floor outside. The door to the toilet has a large gap between it and the floor. The door to the room wasn’t seated well and was very loud when opened or closed. We had to push hard to make either happen. There was AC but it was still warmer than we prefer. There is a mini fridge in the room but it’s meant for wine and would not adjust to below 46F, which is not a temperature that keeps food safe. There was dust and hair on the floors in our room. The sofa in the room was covered in white stains. The chair in our bedroom had a rip spanning the entirety of the seat. It was hard to be in the room and not think about all the people who’ve stayed in it before, which is not what I want in a hotel room. The Clyde had some good things going for it but I would stay in another hotel if planning this trip again.

The hotel room is in a perfect downtown location and great for a night out. We were able to find street parking nearby and my car felt safe. The only small issue we ran into was flushing the toilet. We had to push down the lever 2-3 times before the toilet would fully flush. Besides that, everything was great and I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely loved our stay! Got a corner room so extra big, giant sectional sofa. Room was perfect EXCEPT the lighting is terrible. Really hard to get ready/do makeup. Light over sink doesn’t make a difference whether it’s on or off. Honestly, couldn’t even tell a difference. Light in the bathroom is only marginally better. That being said, still an unbelievable room!

This is a cool hotel in a historic building with a great atmosphere. The lounge connects to a coffee shop, and there are a couple of nice communal areas plus a photo booth. The staff were very friendly. The bed and pillows were great. They also provided a sound machine and earplugs. We always sleep with a sound machine, so that was a nice touch, and we never needed the earplugs since noise wasn't an issue. The one downside was that our room didn't have its own bathroom. That was our mistake, since we didn't realize "private bathroom" meant a separate one outside the room. Just something to double check when booking.

Very clean hotel room, very helpful front desk staff. Room was interesting; toilet in a WC, shower directly in the room. I was alone so I didn't care but wouldn't be thrilled with the situation if someone else was there. Can't beat the price, though. Things looked a little grungier than I anticipated in the lobby/coffee-seating area. If you're visiting, the street is brimming with homeless people as evening sets in and overnight. Use your street smarts and wash your hands after touching the front doors!

My friend and I loved staying at the Clyde! Such a wonderful new experience. Big room that also felt cozy. Very nice bathroom experience. The location was perfect and the price, too.

Loved the corner room with a view of Powell’s. Better than expected. Bigger than expected! The lobby is gorgeous. The coffee shop is sweet to have and you get a little token to get $5 off. Highly recommend!

Excellent location!!!!

This is probably the coolest hotel I’ve stayed at ever. I got a great deal last minute (also it was on a Wednesday night, so demand was probably low) and was shocked for what I got for the price. You can tell a LOT of thought was put into the design of the rooms (and the experience of someone’s stay). It is situated pretty close to sketchy areas. So do a quick google search before you just walk out to dinner like I did. The sketchy areas can be avoided.

The Clyde is a resurrected old hotel with updated amenities. Our room was well prepared. We stayed three nights. Our sheets were real cotton, not microfiber. We each had a bedside lamp for night reading. The staff always seemed to know who we were in our comings and goings. They were more than happy to help us out. The wooden tokens for the cafe next door were fun to use on our first day. The Clyde is very close to Powells Bookstore, blocks from a food truck gathering, blocks from several Thai restaurants, a small diner, a helpful Oregon visitors center, and blocks from the Max red line that took us to Washington Park and the Portland International Airport.

Classic hotel in the right location- the heart of Portland. You feel like Bob Dylan or Lou Reed at some hotel they wrote songs from in New York in the 1960's...the place just vibes. It has not been updated like some of the others; that is what helps contribute to its nostalgic aura. I will definitely stay again!

Not a cookie-cutter hotel. It exuded the character of Portland, was in a perfect location for exploring, and the attached cafe was exceptional. I would happily return.

I absolutely loved my stay here , it was very cozy and felt like i was in a Time Machine in a great way. in a good area , most things i wanted to visit was super close or not too far away. I cannot wait to come back here

The beds are comfortable, but the room set ups are odd. We were downgraded our first night d/t a situation out of the hotel's control and we were put in a queen room. It was rather small, and the set up was odd, but we were most shocked by the graffiti-like writing on the wall as no pictures posted online were like this. It felt vaguely threatening, although the statement was not. We were moved into the booked king suite room the next day, no graffiti. We appreciated the hotel's communication with us over the room situation.

Cute, comfy hotel with lots of fun places to explore in walking distance. The staff was friendly, and there's an attached cafe to get tasty breakfast.
