8/10 Very good
A long time ago this was the Ace, and I don't think Kasa changed anything about it, down to the jumbo coffee table in the lobby. It all looks exactly the same as it used to, which means it's got that circa 2000s charm going for it, almost nostalgically so (with a photo booth to boot). But because they've minimized services, ie personnel, it's cheaper. If you don't want to navigate an app to get your room access code, then Kasa is probably not for you (also make sure the name you book under matches the ID you will be scanning with your phone for the check in process). Cons were negligible: the minisplit was a little loud, the TV a little small, and I couldn't find ice on premises. On the pro side of things, I was happy to find they didn't cheap out on everything: mattress and pillows were fine; two coffee tokens for the coffee shop downstairs were an unexpected perk; and the toiletries in the bathroom are Public Goods in lovely big refillable containers - hugely appreciated over what they could have been. I can't speak for all of the rooms, but mine (on floor 4) had a sweet little view. For what I paid, I genuinely liked my room, and had a great stay. If you like an Ace with no frills for a bargain in a central location, this is an excellent option. I was already plotting my return by checkout (accomplished, naturally, with an "I've checked out" door hanger).
