Very nice hostel, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful!

It was worth the money; everything was virtual didnt really have to interact with staff but they were friendly. Coffee shop attached that was cool and they had a white noise machine in the room which i personally enjoyed because it helps me sleep. Overall would stay there again its in a good spot if you need to be in portland.

Overall I am delighted with my stay. I wanted something affordable in downtown that allows me to explore. I was able to check my bags before I got my room and after while I waited for my next departure. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in downtown.

This was a great stay! It was clean and cozy, and the coffee shop next door was a great perk. I felt the walls were a little thin, but they did provide earplugs and a white noise machine which was thoughtful.

Used to be the Ace Hotel, so many pleasant surprises and details in the room like free coffee tokens, a turntable and audio set, huge bed. We were comfortable, can't complain

This hotel was awesome! Very convenient to a LOT of things in the area, most popular being Powell's Books. Just around the block! In the lobby there is a huge couch to lounge on and they have a photo booth (pictures are $12) on the first floor the have a dining table that seats 8 I do believe. And another huge couch area to hang out on. There were two bathrooms on every floor but you get a unique code specifically for you on your floor. They had a cafe that was attached and they give you some tokens to get a late or a coffee I believe it said. But it closes early-ish so wake up to get your snacks and coffee. The only couple issues I had was when I booked (on Booking.com) it said breakfast was included, they don't do breakfast there or even have any sort of vending machine, nor do they have ice. I heard multiple people ask for any kind of silverware and they didn't have any either. Also! No refrigerator or microwave to keep anything cool or warm anything up. We had a cooler that we happend to have that we ended up using to put our waters in to keep them cool. It's very hard to catch someone at the front desk too. I went down a few different times to ask for extra towels (we were there for 4 days) and finally I found a little cabinet that was locked that had some in it, but someone left the door next to it unlocked and I could reach through and grab a towel from there because I still hadn't seen anyone to be able to ask for one. For all these reasons, I had to go with 4 stars especially with the price, when I could of gone right down the road for almost $100 dollars cheaper and gotten breakfast and a pool. The overnight security guy was pretty awesome, when I would go out to smoke he would always open the door for me when i would come back in, aww! All the rooms are different and unique. I would definitely suggest a stay here if you get the chance.

the hotel was great and easy to get into! we had a few issues with our tv & ac working throughout our trip, but the employees tried to help, but were unable to fix the issue during our stay. would book again!

Whoever purchased the Ace hotel has destroyed it. Everything that made it unique and special is gone. As soon as you walk in you can feel it… not to mention they no longer have anyone staffing it. Immediately upon entering my room I felt like I entered a soulless pit. No wool blanket on the bed, no notes on the board, no robes or slippers, no snacks or drinks in the fridge. The bathroom was on an unmarked step which I immediately smashed my foot into and broke my toenail. The sink was completely coming apart and there was no heat in the room so it was damp and freezing. After going back and fourth with an AI bot for an evening, my request to be moved to a room with a working sink, hand soap, working heat, and a bathroom that didn’t feel like a prison stall… the resolution was to keep me in my room and have a plumber come in and fix the sink. They claimed there were no other rooms were available to be switched to, and to give them a good date and time that plumbers could come in during my stay. When I asked to be refunded so I could go to a different hotel with a bathroom that didn’t feel like a prison cell, again I was told I could have maintenance come in and fix it with no mention of being refunded so I could go someplace that was comfortable. I have stayed at this hotel five or six times and have never stayed in a room this creepy and disgusting. I know other rooms exist and if they are unavailable, to be forced to stay here for the duration of my trip is abhorrent. I miss the Ace hotel. Whatever this is… it’s just a creepy shell.

good for the price. location awesome. kasa should give the passcode of bathrooms in each floor to the guests. Those bathrooms auto lock during nights and early mornings. I had to call the team to figure out the passcode. this info should be given to guest in check in! also, when I arrive at 12am, I don't see any staff at the lobby door. a delivery person tried to follow me in. no 24 hours in person staff at lobby.

The hotel was amazing! It felt right in the middle of everything around downtown! Check-in and check-out was quick and smooth as well! Would stay again 10/10

Great place to stay in the heart of downtown portland. Loved the clawfoot bathtub, coffee tokens, and in room teas!

Great place to stay! Even with a shared bathroom, we did not have any troubles with running into anyone.

It is a minimalistic place, but good for the value. It was a good location to get to the event I was attending at waterfront park.

This is not a hotel, and Expedia shouldn't be listing this as one in its searches for hotels! This is a hostel, and it was an awful stay. The "private bathroom" we were given was a public bathroom with a code to get in. This code worked on all the bathrooms in the building and anyone else in the building with the code could use the bathroom on our floor. I did not understand that our room didn't have a bathroom until after checking in. I'm 50. So when I woke up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I had to bring my phone so that I had the code, my reading glasses so I could see my phone, and walk down a long hallway to get to the bathroom. It's not the same as having a bathroom in one's hotel room. And without that, it's not a hotel, it's a hostel. I will not be back and I do not recommend this property.

Awful experience. Cute and has potential but literally bait and switch. Saw there were shared bathrooms here so we paid extra for a "private bathroom". We got there and had no private bathroom and staff didn't care when we asked about it. Used a communal bathroom that was absolutely disgusting and extremely dirty. One day there was poop all over the toilet. Saw a houseless man wondering around w trash who was let into the shared bathroom. Rooms had a tv w no remote and when we asked about it staff had no idea where the remote was. On top of everything was pretty expensive. Hated staying here.

My partner and I stayed at Kasa’s place in downtown Portland and it was perfect! The place was easy to find and Kasa provide detailed instructions on how to find the building and check in. Also the Airbnb is right downtown so we were walking distance to many different restaurants which was great! My partner and I loved our stay here and we would definitely stay with Kasa again.

Would 100% stay here again! Such a great spot to stay in as visitors from another state (and without a car). Lots of shops and restaurants nearby! The hotel itself was a vibe! Super clean and cozy! The cafe next door was a cherry on top :)

Great place to stay in Portland

A beautiful and well-maintained space in the heart of downtown Portland. Great shower, friendly front desk, a comfortable lobby. Good amenities, including tea and coffee. The wall art (words) in my room was intriguing.

Other than the confusing and frustrating check in experience it was okay. They should really just have someone at the desk 24/7, not doing that is just asking for customer dissatisfaction. Other than that it was a good stay at a good price.

Great hotel if you want a place to vibe and sleep. Free coffee and tea tokens in room for coffee shop downstairs is a plus and the 1 1/2 floor is a great place to get work done while people watching from a cute little nook. Pretty much a complete self check in and out process. Space in room is tight but very perfect for someone looking for a place to sleep while downtown. No parking available other than street parking or lots. So do your homework as to when free parking starts downtown or be prepared to be at the whim of parking lot fees per day. Beds were too soft for my liking but I like firm beds.

Classy Vibes Likes: My friend and I stayed here for a surgery that I had at OHSU and needed to stay local in Portland for the week before flying back home. The hotel is well located with close access to Powell's Books, CVS, Whole Foods, and public transportation lines and the use of door codes made coming and going relatively easy. The rooms were small, but tastefully decorated with a working layout. I had a super late check-in because of a delayed flight,, but they made arrival seamless. I found the music player playing soft jazz when I arrived in my room and that really sold the vibe for me. The cafe next door was amazingly convenient with tasty coffee and breakfast items. Really love the staff and we got a few tokens to try out the coffee as a perk for staying at the hotel. Dislikes: Nothing! Everything was awesome!

It was a cute little spot in the heart of downtown. I had a nice view and easy access to everything. It was pretty small but def worth the price. Only thing I would’ve liked better was they didn’t have food, drinks, vending machine, a place to even get a bottle of water. But with DoorDash that was easily fixed. It’s an older building so in the winter time, it’s takes a little time to heat up the room.

Very artistic and hipster hotel. Really enjoyed it and would stay in this style of hotel anywhere I go!

The hotel room was great value and a perfect downtown location. No parking on site but several public garages to choose from near by. Would definitely stay here again.
