The staff are nice and helpful, the thing we payed through Expedia like $100 something a night. We came to check in and they told us there was an additional $135 charge. When I asked for what they simple stated “hidden fees.” Oh okay? Also when it says “breakfast included,” there was legit 3 bananas, 2 types of cereal and milk. Like deadass. I took a picture idk if I’ll be able to upload it. Also we booked the cheapest room and it didn’t have a bathroom, which for $250 a night I didn’t expect that but I should of doubled checked. That ones on me. Oh btw the stairs are really squeaky and old, the hallways and room smelt like old people. It’s just a really old “remodeled” building and what I mean it’s like someone gave it the “landlord special” where they just painted over outlets and doorknobs, instead of getting them fixed.

Positive Aspects: Enjoyable Stay: Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Great Service: The service provided by the staff was excellent. Peaceful Environment: The lobby and 2nd-floor lobby were peaceful and great for getting work done. Surprising Amenities: The cabinets on the 2nd floor were a pleasant surprise, and the original film photo booth (privately owned) in the lobby was a nice touch. Toiletries Provided: The hotel provides shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion, which was convenient. Pantry Room: I appreciated the presence of a pantry room, available from 7-10 am. Areas for Improvement: Parking Situation: Despite the online mention of parking, it turned out to be a few blocks away and cost $26 a night. Bathroom Miscommunication: The online description mentioned "shared bathrooms," but I didn't expect them to be communal showers. Room Setup: Our room had a random sink, and the overall size was small, though functional for three people. Breakfast: The included breakfast was very light and small. Overall, I would consider staying at this hotel again, but I would choose a different room next time.

There's a lot to like about this quirky hotel, not in the least the funky lobby with its consistently good playlist. The room decor is also interesting and well done. And it's smack dab in the middle of downtown Portland, so you can't beat that. The only real downside was the free 'breakfast', which consisted of a few bad cereal options or even worse mini muffins. There was some fruit and off the shelf greek yogurt. Not up to part with the rest of the hotel experience. Other than that, the experience was great.

Likes: The location. The staff. The hotel itself. Stumptown coffee being downstairs was a huge plus. Dislikes: Nothing. The place was perfect.

100% recommend We absolutely loved it. 100% coming again. The location was perfect - very nice staff and really cool, different than you’re used to rooms.

Likes: Great location! You can see Powell's Books from the room. Comfy room for my daughter and me! Great view! Nice to be able to hop downstairs to Stumptown Roasters in the morning. Dislikes: I was very disappointed in the breakfast. Two out of my three mornings, there was hardly anything left to eat (only a few Fruit Loops). I got there with at least an hour left in the breakfast service each time too. The one morning with food left, there were yummy overnight oats, but no toppings left nor utensils. Also, keep in mind you will want to park in a garage in the area and that will add $20-25 dollars/night to your budget.

We loved staying here!! Great feel to the place and very welcoming. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and kind. We would definitely stay here again!

Likes: Clean, supercool interiors, there's security at night. Dislikes: They ask you for a 100 dollars deposit. Breakfast is included but it's very "light". Perhaps my room was a bit too dark.

I was terribly disappointed with the breakfast, as it used to be so fresh and delicious (think Swedish smorgasbord with fresh berries, cream, meats, nuts, etc). Now it's store bought mini muffins and sugared cereals. Thankfully, they had overnight oats, but nothing but a banana to add to the oats :-/ On the plus side, the mattress was wonderful :-)

A comfortable, affordable stay in a central location and with a distinctly "Portland" feel. Likes: I wanted a centrally located hotel at reasonable rates with an appealing environment as a bonus. As an architect I appreciated the attention to detail in the hotel. I found the slight quirkiness to be endearing. Slight flavor of a "youth hostel" but with an upscale spin. We enjoyed our stay. We had made an error in our booking and they were very accommodating to fix that. Great stay.

由緒あるAcehotelに宿泊。伝統的な施設の中で良く使われていて、おしゃれで良かったです。そのままの姿で営業して欲しいです。 今は各部屋にトイレやシャワー室が無いと不便さを感じます。それのお陰か宿泊も静かでご理解ある宿泊者が多い気がします。また、朝食のオーバーナイトオートミール美味しかったです。他のダウンタウンのビジネスホテルの無料朝食も利用しましたが他より良かったです。

Convenient location although guests should be ok with road noise. The hotel didn’t appear to have any updates since 2015 visit.

Likes: the room's style is very classic. Dislikes: nothing

100$ more then was told. No explanation Was already expensive, didn't use any of the other services or anything. Just needed a place to sleep for the night. Charged an extra 100$ afterwards, we left the room clean. Returned the key and picked up the mess we did make.

We come here every year for our anniversary. It is our favorite hotel in Portland. Great price and nice hotel. We love it!!!!

Funky & cool, warm bed, close to shops & restaurants. The only negative is the parking situation.

What a great weekend getaway to Portland. We had such an amazing experience that The Ace is going to be our go to from now on! Great location, friendly staff, great coffee in the lobby. The decor and vibe are off the charts! My partner is currently redoing our bedroom at home to mimic room 313 😍

Ace Hotel Portland Cool, close to great things, clean and comfortable. Definitely pick a room with a shower if standing in a tub in middle of room is disorienting or difficult, as well as if stepping up and over into the tub is challenging or impossible. They do have many types of rooms, so many choices!

Love staying at the ACE Our stay in PDX was fantastic! May 14 and 12 year old loves the experience. Decor is on point. Hotel staff was friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Easy check in check out. Linens & bedding were super comfy. Look forward to staying at another ACE hotel soon. Till next time.

Loved it! Loved the feel, the spaces, the comfie couches, fabulous creaky stairs, claw foot bathtub, delish little oranges and honey for my tea! The room made us smile….so simple and lovely. Barn door window coverings, great lighting, open hangers and a full fridge.

Portland stay Stylish hotel, but is starting to feel like it needs a bit of a refresh. Convenient location. Sink in the bedroom is a bit weird. Deserves its 3.5* rating.

Great location and good beds Likes: Good location. Lovely & comfortable beds Dislikes: There was no breakfast or little there of. No spoons to eat with and if you told the receptionist it took 500 years for 2 to be washed

Loved the vibes, amenities & how welcoming the front desk was when we checked in! Likes: Loved how easy it was to check in the evening, how the lobby was closed after sundown and you needed to be let in, which happened almost immediately after ringing the bell. It was a great stay, really enjoyed the amenities that were given to us and how well stocked our room was with towels. Dislikes: The breakfast included was interesting. The overnight oats were delicious, however, aside from that, there wasn’t much breakfast options other than the occasional orange. I wish they had more options other than the overnight oats. The coffee was okay, but it’s what to be expected as hotel coffee. They had two milk alternatives (almond & oat) which I liked having and plenty of sugar alternatives as well. Overall, the breakfast included was slightly disappointing.

New favorite hotel <3 My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Ace for a 5 day trip to Portland. Stuart at the front desk was truly stu-pendous (sorry for this terrible pun) and gave us several great recommendations for vintage stores and food-many of which we could easily walk to. Checking in/out was seamless and quick. The clawfoot tub in our room was 10/10 and a highlight of the trip for me, and the room was cozy and comfortable. We appreciated that coffee/tea was available throughout the day. We love Ace Portland and definitely plan to return!

Prior to our stay I had called to request a clawfoot bath tub specifically for my partner as she likes to take baths and thought it would be relaxing. The bath didn’t happen because the water ran cold after about a 1/4 of the tub being filled up, which also took forever. So shower it was. Now we both go to take a shower and have luke warm water. Cold was completely off just the hot tap on and that water was barely warm. The heater/ac unit in the room didn’t work. We could feel air coming form it at one point but it felt cold. Went to go turn the heat up and it just stopped working. We called to the front desk and they brought up a space heater which was fine. We also went to get breakfast’s at 9:30, breakfasts ends at 10, and the only thing that was available was cold cereal but no milk for it. I had also tried to get coffee but the cream was completely out. While I was in the breakfast room other guest also came in trying to get breakfast. This was very disappointing. Great location, great overall vibe of the hotel.
