I came here when it was under Ace Hotel. Had a small queen back so it has no view. The room has a great radio speaker with great fidelity. The breakfast was minimal and self-service and if you’re late food (overnight oats or cereal) may run out. Location was good. Staff was friendly and showed me where to park. The interior decoration is the differentiator (from big chain hotels). As I understand it, the hotel is now under new management under the historic name of the building.

Overall a good place to stay. Great atmosphere and very clean inside. We brought our dog so we had to get her out to the street to potty, it was really late at night and the surrounding doesn’t felt as safe. However, it was still a good place to stay.

Booked this place when it was still the Ace Hotel, having been there many times in the past. Now that this place is run by Kasa, just stay away. Even from the get go, this place stuck out as bad. I never got the email that they apparently sent me to check in, so the woman at the front desk had to look up the booking number for me (the one I had didn't work, presumably because it was for the Ace Hotel). Once I had that, the website refused to provide the code to allow me into a room, leaving me on the phone with Kasa for an hour in the lobby while the woman at the front desk insisted there was nothing she could do. Once I did finally get into my room, the stay was still pretty awful. They no longer do basic hotel functions like making up a room, or providing fresh towels - they provided two for my 6 night stay, and I had to chase down a cleaning woman in the hall to ask for some more which she provided, reluctantly. They're also currently doing renovations on the ground floor, where breakfast used to be served, so there's a lot of noise going on all day. Just save your money. There are better, cheaper hotels around the same area, who actually want to function like a hotel. Not sure how they're even allowed to keep the old Ace Hotel reviews - just check every review after the Kasa takeover to see how far downhill this place has slid.

I found it pretty easy to get in and out especially after hours that was a main concern. I didn’t mind the bathroom being shared was pretty clean and comfortable considering lock made it obvious when in use. The bedroom was nice and clean, and I slept comfortably the bed was wide enough for two.

The Clyde Hotel is an experience in the heart of Downtown Portland. Walkable to grocery, restaurants, coffee shops and public transit. The 1912 building has been classically modernized from the Golden elevator to the shiny black original wood plank floors. Walking on the creaking staircase is like stepping back in Time. The lobby gives a hip, cool, vintage vibe using recycled materials which I love for our planet. Refrigerator, coffee, water & hot water kettle are kindly provided until you can make it to the Whole Foods, 4 minutes away, walk time. Some rooms weren't designed with facilities but just a couple doors down the hallway there are huge, very safe and lockable single bathroom/shower rooms. I think it's kind of fun, like camping, but not. Kasa was very attentive and kind if any questions arose. Hats off to the owners, building new life back into this remarkable piece of Portland history!

We booked this place before they were bought by Kasa, and it was sold to us as more of a hotel than an automated hostel. After they were bought but before our stay, the room price dropped and we weren’t refunded the difference. We payed more than a colleague who stayed elsewhere at the same time and had superior service in several measurable ways. The lack of an exhaust fan and inability to open the windows meant that the room quickly began to smell ripe, but it smelled like that blue chemical they use in porto-potties when we arrived so… which is worse? We got lucky, our AC unit didn’t make much noise. Other than the lack of a fan, the shower felt quite luxurious with the white tile and open space, the tile needs some grit though because it’s very slippery when wet. The bed was quite firm, my partner had to sleep on a pillow to avoid back pain. I liked that the location is across the street from a bar and a cinema and transit, though there were times when I didn’t feel completely safe at night walking back to the hotel. The decor was cute.

WARNING: THIS IS NO LONGER ACE HOTEL. It's Kasa meaning you don't really get any service anymore. Clyde/Kasa will not even provide a partial refund even though the hotel listings are cheaper than what Ace Hotel was charging. Just total scams all around from Ace Hotel to Clyde/Kasa Hotel transition

So fun staying in the old Ace hotel. Most of the suites have a big tub and a record player which was very fun.

This is formerly the Ace Hotel. The new Kasa check in system is a joke that has no human in the loop at all. Who wants to go to through the ordeal of traveling and finally arriving at the hotel only to jump through hoops, wait for texts and emails, and upload your drivers license to who knows where, all while the front desk has no tools to fix anything? The rooms are still cool, but I think Kasa forgot they’re running a hotel

Beautiful room and safe place to stay. It’s in a great location.. just make sure you read about the bathroom before you book.

Wonderful stay in Downtown Portland! Great location in the heart of the city, room was very comfortable with great amenities and perfectly clean. Look forward to visiting again soon!

What a special place. My husband and I stayed at The Clyde Hotel by Kasa for 6 nights and had a wonderful time. I knew we would like it when we walked in and jazz music was playing from the radio. The record player was also such a cool touch. Our room and the entire hotel was spotless and staff were pleasant and friendly! Location is also great, so many restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. Thanks for a great stay!

I had a great stay at the Clyde Hotel. The virtual checking was easy and the on-site team was great! The area has tons to walk to and explore. Will definitely be back!

A great stay at the Clyde hotel— enjoyed the walkable restaurants and shopping. Room was clean and comfortable; staff was very friendly!

“In transition” Likes: Good size room, location excellent, plenty of breakfast options nearby, reasonable water pressure and a large comfy bed. Dislikes: They state that they are ‘in transition’. So, no shower gel in the bathroom, no tea kettle in the room (although there are mugs and tea), no cleaning or towel change during our three-night stay. Other aspects were disappointing, and maybe also a consequence of the transition. Certainly, breakfast was not up to standard - coffee from a dispenser and pastries wrapped in plastic but good in an emergency. Notably, the internal bathroom was divided from the main room by wooden partitions which do not give any true privacy - if you’re sharing the room you’ll know each other a lot better after this stay.d

Great intro to Portland Likes: Location had ups and downs. It was close to lots of fun restaurants. Safety would be questionable with the drug users so close and visible. Staff did secure premises which was good

Likes: 建物内はとてもおしゃれで、いたるところで刺激をうけました。立地も素晴らしく、あらゆる場所へアクセスが容易なのはとても助かりました。スタッフの皆さんはとても優しく、いつも笑顔です。 2階のカフェルームではコーヒーが自由に飲めて、電子レンジも使えます。 Dislikes: 古い建物をリノベーションしているので仕方ないところもありますが、水回りの設備は現代的なものではないですし、洗面がつまりやすかったです。また部屋のトイレの扉が非常に重く、子どもたちにとっては大変でした。 またホテル前の道で夜中に爆音で音楽を鳴らす車がいたり、毎晩何かと音がうるさく、ぐっすり寝ることができませんでした。

Don’t stay here. No services (bar restaurant closed); construction going on in adjacent part of the building, noisy in my room. No service for the room. No hot water for 24 hours, something was wrong with the boiler. Even though I was on the 4th (top) floor, I could hear all the drug addled street people off and on all night. Don’t stay here.

The property is mid. I get the vintage vibe but this is just bordering on old now. Overall an ok stay but plenty of other places to stay for the money.

Likes: The location was great easy access to everything and the breakfast was small as expected. Dislikes: The parking was a good distance away wish there was parking with the hotel and it was way overpriced.

We love Ace Hotel! Really nice people at front desk. PDX has seen better times (COVID and Trump’s invasion didn’t help.) But, it’s still one of favorite places to visit. Just need to not leave stuff in your car, bc if anything of value is visible-theft is a possibility. My kid learned the hard way. But despite that-I’d highly recommend Ace Hotel. And their shampoos and soaps smell nice too! Thanks

We love the Ace Hotel. Staff is always super nice and the location is great, right near our favorite Powell’s and there’s a cinema across the street. Portland has been hurting since COVID and Trump’s attacks against the city, and you need to be careful not to leave stuff in your car, but it’s still one of our favorite places to visit (despite their soccer team-Go Sounders;)

Likes: The staff was kind and location is great. Comfortable beds, nice shower, cozy room. Breakfast was simple, but very nice coffee places nearby as alternative. Would totally recommend! Dislikes: Everything went great

Likes: Hotel is very well situated - close to great bars, restaurants, and shopping. Beds are incredibly comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean. Dislikes: Breakfast was really terrible. If this is a selling point for booking the hotel, it shouldn't be.

Exudes Character and Charm Unique property with tons of character. Super clean, with some minor old building noises. Love the 1 and a half floor.

The hotel is cool but he doesnt have anymore a restaruant or a barr so I don't know if it make sense to stay there.....

Such a funky hotel that is a fun place to stay. Right in heart of downtown Portland. Room had everything we needed and was very clean and well cared for. Breakfast room is great - simple but good healthier choices to start your day. Beds are very comfortable - sheets and duvet are lovely! Front desk service was a bit slow but they might have been having some computer issues so this might not be the norm. Only complaint is no parking so we had to park blocks away and haul all our stuff. Band van and trailer parked long time in loading zone so we couldn’t use.
