This is the only place I stay when visiting the DMV area. It is clean and nicely decorated. I also love that it is surrounded by many shops, restaurants, and a few attractions that are in walking distance. I did have one incident in the the many years of visiting when I arrived to an unclean room at 11 pm. The customer service was responsive and I was relocated to a different room and receive a refund for one night stay.

Clean and Tidy Good location, clean and tidy property with everything you need provided. Ideal for visiting old town Alexandria Only issue was with the room being fairly small the only hanging space for clothes was in the bathroom.

Wonderful Time I really like my stay there. It feels good to have a kitchen there and also the coffee maker. I really loved how easy was to use a code instead of a key to get to the property and my room. All of the home appliances were working very well (air conditioner, coffee maker, lights, tv, etc.) All of my doubts were solved by the support team on the app. What I didn't like is that I heard the steps of the people above me on the upper floor and that there are two doors in the yard that are very loud and you can hear them on non very convenient hours.

This is a scam. This chain uses remote workers to respond to issues, but good luck getting a response to anything urgent within 72 hours. They have no understanding of or appreciation for the clientele who visit this area - mostly government employees and high level entrepreneurs who do not have time for poor quality or excuses. Do not make a mistake and book with this property. They have several violations of the FRCA and many local laws as well. I WILL be reporting them to the Alexandria Mayor's office, and my legal team.

Sonder @ King St. Beautiful place. Nice and cozy. Within walking distance to all essentials. Towels and bedding was clean. I have been in and out of the building and rarely ran into anyone else. Definitely using Sonder again.

The property itself is definitely a step above a hotel. We booked 3 rooms for a gathering. Two of the rooms matched our bookings. The third room was booked as a Spacious Suite and needed as we had two adults who were not related staying together. These two adults had to share a Queen bed and customer service had no explanation of why the room booked was not honored. In attempt to shut us up, another room was booked to move to the second night. This required the parties to pack up their belongings and move them to one of the other rooms in our party by 11:00AM. At the 3:00 when checking into the new room..... it was the exact same size room! So much time had been wasted up until this point for a two night stay that we gave up at that point. Do not stay in a Sonder if you expect to stay in the room described and booked. Especially if you need the space for your party. There will most likely not be anyone in Customer Service who knows your property or can help explain why this happened or resolve it in a matter appropriate to the inconvenience.

The stay was amazing!! My wife and I spent the first days of our honeymoon there and were si grateful for the experience!! From heat bathroom floors to white noise machine, the amount of amenities available were a testament to how much considerate the organization!

They had been laundered, but it is unacceptable to put stained sheets back on bed. I also noticed some stains on the towels. We experienced a problem with our booking upon check-in. Members of our party were placed in a smaller room than the one reserved and paid for. Our experience with customer service when we tried to correct the situation was terrible. The phone representative was not helpful and downright rude/disrespectful. The situation was not resolved and the guests had to stay in the smaller room for the duration of the stay. We found it very frustrating not to have a Sonder representative on site to handle our problem. We did not get what we paid for and are still trying to receive compensation for our inconvenience. I do not plan to stay in a Sonder property in the future.

Is good place, but the street noise from King st is loud. The windows are old and do little to prevent noise from outside. ear plugs are provided but still get woken up by bar people in the middle of night and garbage truck in morning. Main disappointment was their lack to accommodate a 3 pm check in vs 4 pm. We waited in the courtyard and enjoyed for 30 minutes but they were insisting us paying $50 to check in at 3 pm. Please just accommodate your guests reasonable requests and do not try to nickel and dime people. People hate that.

Lovely place. Trash collection was early and seemed endless on Saturday morning. There were Cacophonous construction workers doing demo work next door and it began at 6 am. I would return again because the price was good in comparison to nearby hotels. The construction work and endless trash collection was disruptive. The heated bathroom floor was fantastic as well as the shower. Little fridge and a stovetop, electric kettle and coffee pot along with full set of dishes pots and cutlery were unexpected. I ran the dishwasher before leaving and left it all tidy. I’d ask ahead about construction and ask for a rear facing room.

The closet only had one coat hanger. This was a real inconvenience, as I had to drape clothes over the furniture. The bed cover was too warm without leaving a window open to the cold, or running the AC at night. Would prefer an in-between blanket option.

The location was exactly as promised. Great location, fully equipped studio, quiet space conveniently located in the heart of a great walkable neighborhood.

Great stay Stayed at the Grace for 5 days solo. Stayed in the studio. The space is enough for 1 adult and a small child under 10. Street parking with park mobile app. Lots of shops to walk and see. The only wish is there was a washer and dryer on the premises for guests to use. There is a laundry place 8 min walk from the building. Otherwise, I had everything I needed. I would stay here again.

Sonder Old Town Alexandria I tried a studio apartment for a work trip to DC. The building is old and room 300 was drafty, but the heated floor and heated air worked great to keep me warm. The street noise is noticeable but I’m a heavy sleeper so it didn’t bother me. I will stay again soon.

I liked that it was in a city like area. Everything I needed was convenient to me. It was very pleasant.

My wife and I had the pleasure of spending an evening at The Grace last week. Cannot speak highly enough of the experience - the functionality is seamless and the property fantastic. We stayed in a Premium Studio overlooking a cozy patio space with wonderful string lighting and outdoor furniture. The location is phenomenal; right in the heart of the King Street corridor in Old Town Alexandria and was less than a minutes walk to tons of great restaurants and shops. Lastly, we bumped into a housekeeper during our check-in. Several minutes later there was a knock on our door. When opened, there was a handwritten welcome note, fresh towels, and Sonder-branded cookies. Incredible touch and incredible attention to detail. I will recommend this Sonder location to anyone visiting the area!

This is a nice place to stay, very clean, comfortable & all the comforts of home.

Dirty towels were left in the restroom and the sofa and coffee were not cleaned but staff were immediately responsive

Beautifully modern little room. Reminds us of a place you'd stay in Seoul or Tokyo because of the quaintness. Everything you need and nothing you don't. Bathroom situation could be an issue for non-married couples or those with privacy concerns, as all that separates it is a frosted sliding glass door.

Great location Perfect size room

The location is great. Checking in and out is difficult without a designated loading zone. Overnight parking is several blocks away. May or may not get items shown in room photos.

Don't even dream that parking will not be a huge problem! I tried to check in, I tried to find a parking space, I tried to work with the on-line staff to just manage to get checked in after a long day of travel. No solutions, no refunds and absolutely no satisfaction. If you are lucky you might find a parking space that will only require your car to be moved 3 times per day. I could not even find that one small space to allow for 15 minutes to check-in.

Noisy! I'll start off with the pros - the property is in a great location in the heart of old town Alexandria, perfect. The rooms are also well appointed, clean and updated. Unfortunately, here are the challenges that will prevent me from staying here again. The property downgraded the room without notice, in fact if I didn't call to address they would have charged me the higher price for the smaller room. Parking - a nightmare, they provide you with a list of options, but they fail to mention none of them are overnight parking. So I moved my car 4 or 5 times over a 3 day stay to avoid tickets. Lastly, and the most frustrating is that the rooms facing the street are not well noise insulated, in fact some of the windows didn't even close properly - that means you can hear every conversation, every car driving by, everything, throughout the night. They do provide ear plugs, but I was not used to that and found it very uncomfortable. After two nights of very poor sleep, being downgraded, and poor customer service, we checked out early.

My room was changed without notice, the TV didn’t work, the outside patio was closed for fumigation and I was only refunded 60 bucks. I will never use Expedia and sonders ever again.
