The Lafayette Hotel was a great base for our New Orleans adventure! Right on the St. Charles streetcar line, walking distance to the French Quarter and Superdome/Smoothie King Center. Rooms could use a little updating, but were clean and comfortable. Room A/C seemed a little weak, although functioned OK for our needs. We arrived early in the morning and were able to check in early with no issue. The staff were all friendly and responsive.

A Great hotel in a quieter part of town. Extremely comfortable beds. I am super pickin about comfortable bedtime. Also, the Lafayette Hotel is close to great coffee places and the warehouse restaurants. Better food that caters to locals not one-time tourists. You better be good or the locals simply won't come back!

The staff and customer service were great- everyone at the hotel made themselves completely available to us at any and all times, and were wonderful with our little dog. I do agree with other reviewers who said the bathroom floor was slippery (especially for senior guests), but I was so pleased with the experience the next time I visit New Orleans I want to stick with Valentino hotels!

Old style deciration makes this hotel very nice. We had a cosy room with a confortable bed. Shower was very spacious. Despite being in the street side of the building, which probably is the noisiest one, it was ok, and the sound of the streetcars is definitely typical of this city! Staff was also very friendly and helpful

Nice historic hotel. Very clean, very friendly staff. Forgot our washcloths one day and toiletries the next. There's a trolley that goes by on the street in front of the hotel. It's cute initially but the noise gets old fast.

I stayed here from the March 18th- 20th for part of my spring break. The place was very clean, and the staff was very helpful. The only down part to this place is that if you are a light sleeper you will hear the trolley all night long, but that is not something the hotel can do. It is very close to Canal and Bourbon street about a ten minute walk. Its also close to the French Quarter which is about a fifteen minute walk. It is in a safe location and there are plenty of restaurants/bars around.

We just finished a 3 nite stay at the Lafayette and what a great hotel it is.Johnetta made us feel at home as we checked in and offered many suggestions which were spot on.Tim looked after us in the lobby and got us situated nicely. The location is great to get back to from the magical French quarter and the "sobering" stroll is just the ticket.DO NOT miss out on Steve's happy hour from 4-7.He will keep you wet and well fed from a fantastic happy hour menu. The manager stopped by to recommend the meatballs from somebody's home kitchen and he was not wrong. The hotel is older ,like me,and has some short comings but gets the job done nicely!Lots of hot water and a very comfortable bed, climate controlled.I look forward to my return.

Lovely historic hotel, a distance away from the bustling French Quarter to enjoy a comfortable, quiet place to sleep. Beautiful architectural details like crown moulding, wood paneled elevators and rounded hallways mouldings. We had a wonderfully perfect suite with a separate living room area with it's own tv and desk, and modern bathroom with strong water pressure. They have soft, fluffy towels. The bedroom had a large closet with a free to use safe. It had a bar area with a fridge and coffee maker. The staff is accommodating and helpful. Despite a 4 pm check in time they gave us a room right away on our morning arrival.

Really good hotel. Everything’s a little older, but it kind of adds to the charm! Absolutely wonderful location and very helpful staff and valet services. 2 blocks from a grocery, CVS, and Willa Jean! About a mile from Jackson Square, and about a mile from some cool Garden District sights. My one wish is that they’d add microwaves to the rooms, but certainly not a deterrent to stay with them! 4/5 stars!

It was a great location. However, not many amenities that I feel would make the stay more pleasurable. Staff was absolutely lovely! The only downside was the bathroom in our room could definitely use some work. Parts where there was rust visible and paint chipping off. But other than that it was lovely, would recommend!
