I USED THE RESORT PASS (not booked a room)
Connecting to this resort to get clarifying answers made me feel like I was back in Southeast Asia. It was tremendously difficult getting a human on the phone. It was explained to me that the entire property is “automated” … whatever that means.
Three phone calls later, I was able to confirm that the construction was complete, the restaurant was closed (so yes, I could bring my own food and drink!), and yes the pool fee included the beach.
And good thing, too, because the POOL WAS IN THE SHADE AS OF 11am. (I went Thanksgiving week, for reference. So, late November.) Further, the BEACH WAS IN THE SHADE AS OF 2pm.
That revealed, I had a serene, peaceful time. The valet was only $10 and the Front Desk knew I was coming. I wasn’t a fan that they pointed to the towels rather than walking me there or bringing me one, but I did appreciate the Manager introducing herself joyfully.
I found the fitness facility spacious, CLEAN, and very well stocked. It was an easy way to “earn your leisure.”
Finding the pool already in the shade but not in the mood for dealing with bringing the sand back into my vehicle, I opted for the astroturf green area in between the two. Excellent choice, wonderful view of the Atlantic. Unfortunately, this must not be a common decision because there were no recumbent chairs.
When I went down to the sand to bring up my own I finally saw a staff member who questioned me rather than helping me get set up. That didn't feel awesome.
The valet attendant made it clear this facility kicks out Day Pass guests right at 5. I have no idea if this is true. I wasn’t in the mood for drama so I left this shady oasis at 4:45.
All-in-all, for $20, this space allowed me to disappear for a few serene hours. I am likely to return when I can arrive much earlier in the day.
