Great gem! Great spot!

Everything was amazing until I was packing to leave and found a strangers underwear under the bed.

Quaint small hotel right at the beach. Cozy small comfortable rooms. Nice staff. Twenty minute walking from the nearest restaurants and shops. We would go back.

The property was excellent. Entrance a little hard to see especially at night. Valet service top notch. Food service little slow.

Beware of costly beach chairs and umbrella rule Room was nice. Common areas need cleaning. Beware that you cannot use your own beach chairs or umbrellas. The ones you have to rent are $15 apiece per day! 2 chairs plus 1 umbrella= $45 per day. .. not specified on website. Wish we had known prior to coming here.

What a magnificent property this was, the resort layout offered great views, with private and public seating areas that faced the ocean or intercostal . The pool area was nicely decorated and had plenty of seating for the capacity limit allowed. 24 hour gym availability with tread mills facing out towards the ocean, which was nice. The valet service was always polite and speedy with retrieving our vehicle, which cost 25$ a night for parking (no public parking spaces/garages). I booked the large king suite w/balcony (room 317) that offered two king size beds in the suite area and a large queen bed inside the 1bdrm, ideal for people traveling with 5 or more guest you can honestly sleep 6 people comfortably in this room, it’s their biggest room they offer and the balcony has a stunning ocean view. Now be aware it is more of a self service type of hotel, no daily house keeping or room service, no phones in the room at all lol. But you can get all of your towels and toiletries from the main lobby area. There’s a Restaurant on site with a Greek/Mediterranean style menu. One of the best parts was The drive getting there, absolutely breathtaking, from the tree lined streets, to the mega yachts docked in the marinas, a small taste of “paradise” in my opinion. I Truly enjoy my stay at Sondor, if ever in Deerfield Beach, FL again I’d definitely rebook.

We stayed here in 2024 and I gave 5 starts. Fast forward to exactly a year later and things have changed tremendously. Starting with the price of breakfast and the price of the beach chairs. Last year the beach chairs and umbrella were a free amenity but now they are $15 EACH!! Also our room was in a terrible location in the hotel we asked for a change but they said they couldn’t change it. So we are disappointed but other than that the location is nice, the hotel is clean and the service is descent.

Everything was very very nice, my wife and I will be definitely staying here moving forward, every time we go to Florida. The beach front was right there, it felt very homey, the drinks are brought to you by the waiter. Only bad thing is that you have to pay for valet parking if you do own or rent a car for your stay, but even then the personal working the valet were very nice and very kind. I didn’t like that there was no phone in my room. I also had issue scheduling house keeping through the app so i had to go downstairs to reception to ask them to schedule on their end. Gym and pool is great. Valet parking was great in how they treat me and got my car quickly. The area is beautiful and quiet but it floods when it rains.

I got the stay through Expedia. The ad didn't say we had to pay $25/day for parking. So that was lame we had to pay more than anticipated - why can't that just be included in the cost? I'm so tired of "additional costs" on everything! We were there for two days. The first day we had one warm shower. Second day it was a cold shower - disappointing. I liked that someone was at the front desk 24 hrs since our flight was delayed and we got there late (1am). The pool looked nice but we went to the beach - and they gave us towels for that!

Choices for food was very limited.

Where to start. First of all $160 per night, 4 nights and not one time did we get fresh towels or bedding. No phone to call the front desk. So when my bathroom flipped a fuse I went down and was told to find the fuse box and flip it back. Forced to get valet for $25 a day and all they did was back the car into a space we drove by. Not allowed to use your own beach chairs but hey we can rent theirs for $30 per chair. NO laundry machines. Terrible coffee machine. No iron or hair dryer. For $160 per night I expect some basic things to just be. This was the worst hotel experience I've had ever. Not worth it at all. If I had to give a reason for my one star I'd say the bed was comfy. But I wish I could give ZERO.

A local gem. If you prefer smaller hotels but classy…….this is a great spot! Loved it!

The Restaurant staff was excellent

The Hillsboro Hotel is a beautiful space. The lobby and communal space is gorgeous! I loved spending some time on the private beach and the lounge. The restaurant onsite is a bit expensive but the food is really good. The hotel is a long walk away from any other restaurants. The room is really nice and spacious.

Relaxing and Gorgeous!! The staff was responsive to our very minor issues when needed (comical customer confusion on operating balcony doors!!). Our suite was clean and ready at check in. The beach was soooo quiet. If you are looking to avoid a busy noisy beach scene this is your place!!! View from suite was superb! Pool was great alternative to beach when wind prohibited chairs & umbrellas...

What an amazing experience with Sounders Hillsboro

It was a nice place. Staff was friendly helpful. Had an overall good feeling.

While I did like this hotel, I do not agree with the 4 star rating. I stayed here for one week for work. Room & bathroom are average. I did not like that there is only one switch for the bathroom light & fan. Elevator is slow when it’s working. The only thing that makes up for all of the cons is the location. Some of the staff are really kind and helpful, especially Caio and Jeannie, who were always there to help with anything I needed. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for some of the other staff. There is one female employee who was especially rude, and refused to help me print work-related documents. She even went as far as telling Jeannie not to help me. Don’t advertise that you have a business centre if your printer doesn’t work. I did not ask for the name of the employee, I was so taken back by her unwillingness to help. I have never been refused help like that in any hotel I have ever stayed in. I understand if you have been instructed not to have guests send emails to personal employee email addresses, but there is absolutely no reason for you to be rude about it. I am so glad I never saw that employee for the rest of my stay.

Great clean property with private beach and lovely staff. Only a short drive away from pompano beach, Deerfield beach and Boca raton with lots of restaurants and dining options.

Bare bones facility. On the beach with nice pool area. Dark rooms. We were there for 5 nights and they only gave us one day of housekeeping. Not ok.

The restaurant on the property charges extra fees for their food and their food was mediocre at best. The front desk wasn’t always available when needed. We won’t stay here again. But the room was clean and the valet was great.

The view was lovely but thought it was strange that there was no daily houskeeping. The soft furnishings were misding as the couch and chairs was extremely hard. Some pillows like were pictured in the photos would have been nice. The floors wree realky gritty and dirty, mist likly from all the sand from the beach. The ned was comfy and showeres were nice and hot.

Staff was far and in between and sometimes rude. The location was great right on the water. Room was clean but not much space for stuff. Breakfast didn’t start til 8:30? Very strange the expensive chairs and umbrella were only til 5?

Since my review on AirBnb was taken down… I stayed here in December of 2024, while the location is nice (not for commuting to town) I feel like this is the only thing they pride themselves off of. The rooms are dirty (sand all over the floor) and the elevators are broken down on occasion. DO NOT EVEN GET ME STARTED ABOUT THE RESTAURANT. That restaurant they have on site is an absolute JOKE. It was $24 for a literal frozen burger patty from Costco with a stale bun and semi-fresh veg. SUPER underwhelming especially claiming the restaurant has elegance and for the prices they charge. Don’t bother buying a cocktail here. They charge you $22 for an old fashioned that tastes like a sweet leather boot. I’m typically not a picky person when it comes to this kind of thing, (I work customer service) but between the restaurant, and lack of cleanliness, I can’t recommend staying here. If you do, just go down the street to the grocery store and buy a bottle of booze and some sandwich stuff for the week. (You’ll thank me later)
