My stay at the Sonder Altmayer was wonderful! I didn't realize how close it was to so many stores/shops when booking. You really don't need to drive anywhere! I'll definitely be staying again when coming to visit.

Convenient, safe, cold A/C and pretty clean Likes: This location was within walking distance to just about everything. It’s also close to some of the trolley stops. This accommodation felt like home with cold A/C , full Kitchen, and your own washer and dryer in the unit. We will definitely be staying here next time we visit Savannah. Dislikes: The only thing we had any issues with were the floors were dirty. Nothing a swifter couldn’t handle.

We loved our stay with Sonder! This is the second time we’ve stayed in Savannah using Sonder and they both have been great stays and trips.

We booked our Sonder for a 2 week stay. It was the perfect location, clean, and just the right size for a family of 4. We made more than half of our meals in our apartment. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment. But the only ingredients were salt and pepper. So bring your herbs, spices, and oils! We felt incredibly safe and were thankful for the parking discount Sonder offered with our stay. We had a minor issue with our AC, but their support staff was incredibly kind and responsive. The issue was resolved within a couple of hours and we had no additional issues. This is a place we will book again!

This has nothing to do with the property itself but there is a church nearby and it “ding-dongs” every 15 minutes and plays a song every hour on the hour from 8a-8p. They provide ear plugs but I found the bells very irritating. Communication is good through the app. Room had a weird smell. Would recommend they use higher quality cleaning products. The cleaning products in the room have a weird smell and the whole apartment has the same odor. I’m home now and everything in my luggage smells like that. I love the washer and dryer in the room and that no one bothers you. There is a $95 fee for them to clean your room. So you are basically responsible for cleaning up after yourself which is fine with me. Communication is good through the app. They are very responsive within just a few seconds of your query. The property is relatively safe.

Central The place was nice, central. The only thing is that the picture are not from the unit. We staid in a studio and is much smaller than the pictures.

Great location. The place was very neat and clean. We were able to walk everywhere. River St a short 5 minute walk.

Great Place! We loved our stay. Everything was nice and clean and comfortable. Privacy was awesome, and we felt very safe as there were multiple different codes- one to get into the main building, one for the elevator up to the actual floor and then into our room. Would definitely stay again!

It was a little difficult to find the exact lobby for the building. I felt very uneasy cause we had our luggage and was having to navigate Broughton during peak times. The area does have a lot of homeless people. This is not a reflection on Sonder. Just a FYI. The studio was very pretty and in a great location to Broughton. The bed was so uncomfortable. We had to use the pull out couch mattress on top of the bed to even be somewhat comfortable.

Location, location, location.. Great location if you are going to spend most of your time in the Historic District. Parking is a bit of a pain but there are parking ramps that are fairly close. Pretty quiet for being downtown. We will definitely looking into staying there next year.

Absolutely loved the ease and security of entry, simplicity of design, spacious accommodations and cleanliness! The parking was a bit of a hassle. Would have been nice to have a 10min load-in /load-out space in front of the place (something to consider). Shower didn’t drain well, and walls needed some touch ups in a few places, but otherwise it was very clean and a very lovely stay! Excited to try out Sonder in other cities.

Great! I always look for a Sonder near my travel destinations! The room was nice and clean, spacious, modern design, great view, all the essentials you need are provided, customer service always available, great locations. Very convenient to have washer/dryer as well as kitchen available. They combine the best aspects of a hotel and an Airbnb/VRBO

HIGHLY recommend. If you’re thinking about it, do it. Better than any hotel stay I’ve ever had.

Location was amazing. Everything was either up or down Bull street.

The room was not as clean as it could have been. Hair was found on the bathroom counters and in the sink. The space needs to be noise proofed. You can hear every conversation and activity in the adjacent rooms. A luggage cart is needed. There is no way to easily bring up luggage from the lobby.

Absolutely fantastic site!! Excellent location, fantastic instructions, couldn't have been happier with this booking. Will definitely stay with this group again. Their communication is amazing their follow-up even better, they really got this thing down pat.

April 2023 The location was ideal for walking to many of the historic districts in Savannah. There are restaurants and shops surrounding the venue and it is convenient to the river side area. We loved the modern design of our room. Be aware that you may hear some loud cars from the street, but they were not that much of an issue. We will definitely stay here again.

Great location for walkability to places. Loud annoying outside bell rings every day, four times an hour, from 8a-8p. Check-in was annoying and stressful. You MUST create a Sonder account, but they don’t tell you this if booking on third party websites until after you try to check-in and are locked outside in the rain. Room was setup with everything needed, but a little empty and not homely feeling.

Likes: The location, the Space was confortable and well tought. Dislikes: The bed was broken, thé floor was very dirty and the wifi had a problem with the internet connection for half of thé staying.

Perfect Location My husband and I visit several times a year but this was our first stay with Sonder but won’t be our last. I had read reviews about noise but it was actually the quietest stay we have had in Savannah. The location is perfect! We felt really safe in the building. The studio was perfect for the 2 of us and everything we needed was provided

March Happiness Excellent accommodations and responsiveness from the Sonder team. The unit was clean, safe, spacious, convenient and reasonable priced. Fourth floor of an office building with secure access but steps away from the heart of Savannah.

Great location Great location, close to shops and the walk to river street isn’t terrible. It’s pretty busy around nighttime but the location provided ear plugs and a white noise machine! The towels didn’t last us long, but there is a washer/dryer if you need to wash them or even your clothes.

AWESOME PLACE Great location. Close to river street and bay street. Nice updated and CLEAN. No problems checking in or out. Safe location. Bug and spacious with a fully kitchen and washer and dryer but we were here for a weekend and didn’t need to use them but they were there.

Excellent location. Everything else was disappointing.

Traveling with family. The location in the historic district is close to everything. We stayed for five nights and were able to walk to everything in the city (group of two adults, two senior citizens, and a five year old). We had two rooms (studio and a one bedroom apartment) and consider our review consistent for both options. First, the location was great because there was no need for a car. The city is beautiful and the location of the Altmayer was perfectly located. Everything stocked in both apartments were clean and available. The beds and pillows were comfortable and we felt there wasn't anything missing. The rooms were clean for the most part; however, the floors were extremely dirty. The first night walking around in the apartment for an hour turned socks black, so bring house shoes or don't take yours off. Having access to a washer and dryer in each apartment was a positive; however, the washer smelled pretty moldy and the dryer vent wasn't cleaned out for a month, it seemed. When we arrived we noticed that the rooms had a sound machine and ear plugs next to the bed. This was a nice gesture because you are in the heart of downtown and it can get noisy. Our first night was possibly the worst, due to the 'Rocko' lounge (maybe a block away) having a massive concert until 3am (yes, the bars are open until 3 am). No sound machine or ear plugs will prevent the screaming of fans and music playing in the wee morning hours. We only had one night of this. The regular sounds of people having fun, horses walking down the road, and just the regular sounds of Savannah did not bother us. The building is in a safe place and the security of using passcodes to get in the building and elevator gave everyone a sense of peace. For our first stay, this was the perfect spot. If I was to come to Savannah again, I would pick a different place just to experience a new spot; but have no problem recommending the Altmayer to someone as long as they don't need a quite place. If you need silence to sleep, this is not your place; but if you want to be in the heart of action, this is a good location with the appropriate amenities.

It's a shame, but I'm very happy I only have to stay here for two nights. I'm a real Sonder fan. But this is the second time we've had a smelly room. We've had enough. (Original) Mmmhhhh, dieses Mal bin ich wirklich enttäuscht. Das Zimmer war Groß und sauber. Aber der Geruch… schon beim eintreten in das Gebäude kam in ein unangenehmer Geruch entgegen. Okay, dass die Apartments in einem Gebäude mit diversen anderen Unternehmen untergebracht sind (die Apartments befinden sich alle auf der 4 Etage) lässt darauf schließen dass Sonder ggf. Nichts für den unangenehmen Geruch im Eingang kann. Aber auch das Zimmer roch sehr unangenehm und zudem war es sehr stickig. Und zu allem Überfluss wurde das Fenster so präpariert dass man es nicht öffnen kann…. Es befindet sich sogar eine Warnung am Fenster dass wenn man die Vorrichtung welche das Fenster blockiert entfernt, man mit eine Geldstrafe rechnen muss. What? Echt jetzt? Wieso darf ich denn ein Fenster nicht öffnen?! Nun, jetzt haben wir den Gestank im Zimmer und werden diesen nicht mehr los nach dazu ist es super stickig, die Klimaanlage ist so laut, dass man sie nicht in der Nacht laufen lassen kann. Schade, aber ich bin sehr froh hier nur zwei Nächte bleiben zu müssen. Ich bin ein echter „Fan“ von sonder. Aber es ist jetzt das zweite Mal, dass wir ein „stinkendes“ Zimmer hatten. So langsam reicht es dann doch.

Great place to stay Great place to stay! I loved the contactless check in. I had a slight issue with getting into the room, but their customer service was very quick in helping me. The room its self is very spacious. I loved it. Only complaint is the walls are thin so it can get loud. But they provide a sound machine and ear plugs to help drown out the noise. If you are looking for a wonderful experience, stay here!

Great place to stay if you want to be within walking distance from nearly everything. Can hear some of the outside noise and church bells if you are in the sleeping in the livingroom near the window, however, they do provide a noise maker, fans and ear plugs. Cant hear any outside noise if sleeping in bedroom. Security is great. Easy to communicate with staff and brought things we needed. Parking ramp is close by within a few blocks. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

We used Sonder through airbnb and we had really quick polite service which was great because we booked our stay about an hour out from our arrival and they let us check in early. Even though there is a 25$ early check in fee. They also offer parking discounts for a parking garage that’s near by. It was great and an easy few minute walk to the airbnb from the garage.

Location location location This is in the perfect location, easy to walk anywhere in Savannah- no car needed. Short walk to Forsyth Park, Leopold's and the River. The room is nice and clean. If I had to complain about anything - the ceiling fan above the bed makes a ticking noise when it is on. Having luggage storage on site was perfect and secure, we used it before check in and after check out.
