Very fair price. The size and accommodations were perfect for two adult women who are longtime friends, live far apart, and like to vacation together at least once each year. Nice living room, kitchen and laundry areas within the unit, with individual bedroom/bathroom areas. The beds were very comfortable, and plenty of clean towels were provided. The facility was clean, both the apartment itself, and the lobby area. Kasa customer service was very responsive. They got back to me promptly via text message when needed. The location is great, with an easy walk to the light rail.
Things that can be improved: The website uses a picture of the outside of the building that is not accurate, so don’t count on that visual when you first arrive. It would be helpful if they made it clear that the unit is located in the Limestone apartment building.
Building access could be better explained. For example, let guests know that they will be provided with a door code to enter the lobby from the vestibule of the building, and a separate door code to enter the apartment. ALSO (!!) advance notice that the outer doors (from the street into the vestibule), and garage are locked up tight at 6:30PM! We had to search for the secondary keypad on the outside of the building to get in one evening when we were out late.
When we arrived on the first day, there were no k-cups for the coffee maker, no facial tissue, and very little toilet paper (not enough to last our 5 day stay). I sent a text to Kasa customer service and got a very quick reply. A plastic bag of extra toilet paper was left at our door within 1 day. We ended up buying a bag of ground coffee and used it in the French press that we found in the kitchen cabinet. The kitchen could be better equipped, and better attention to detail to make sure the it is properly stocked.
Climate control was a real challenge. We were there in late September and were grateful that we were not there during the warmer summer months. Guests should be informed that there is NO central A/C. There was one in-room A/C unit in the living room (cool air did not reach the bedrooms) along with three tower style fans. However, even though the outdoor temps were only in the mid to upper 60’s at that time, the bedroom temps would climb to 74 degrees at night unless we left the sliders open and a fan running just to drop the temp to about 68 degrees. We were very happy that we were not there during July or August when the outdoor temps are warmer. My guess is that it’s difficult to keep the bedrooms below 80 degrees in the summer months!
The windows, and more importantly, the sliding doors in the bedrooms, did not have screens! So, leaving the sliders open at night to keep the room temp comfortable meant we kept thinking about outdoor insects or birds that could potentially get in.
The trade-off of that great city location is that the outdoor street noise was frustrating at times, in part because we had to leave the sliders open (see above). But even when the sliders were closed, the street noise was quite loud! Garbage pickup at 5:30 AM right below my window was just a load of fun, along with the sound of city buses. If you are used to city noise and can sleep through it, fine. Otherwise, you should be aware of this drawback.
