2wks prior to check in I requested a btl of champagne for my husbands birthday. I was told that it wasn’t something I couldn’t pay for when I payed for the room in advance because they can not guarantee it will be in stock, although the hotel offers 2 different types of champagnes?!? However, there was champagne in our mini bar. I also requested a birthday card which was generic with no name in it, but ok fine, at least I got it. As we followed the bellman up 3 flights of stairs, he didn’t even offer to carry our bags for us —we had to carry our own bags up 3 flights of stairs. Fast forward to check out - our car was not in the spot that we payed the “valet” to Park it in over night at the hotel, Instead our car was parked 2 blocks away in a dirt lot. And AGAIN we carried our own bags, this time, two blocks while being escorted by staff to our car. Finally I get a call from a staff member stating we left the unopened champagne (of which I requested prior to check in) in the fridge- I replied not one person mentioned that the champagne was ours so why would we open it take it or pay for it. She then said Well you’re being charged for it so you should come back and get it because it will not be taken off the bill. When u check in they text u several times, asking if everything is ok, not once did she mention the champagne I requested was in the fridge. But she did ask if I got the birthday card. Like what!?! I asked her to Remove the champagne charge from my bill and she apologized again and said unfortunately she could not do that. I then asked if she charged us for what we took from the mini bar- She stated yes the mini bar was inventoried before they charged my card to ensure the appropriate charges are applied to the card. I said well if u inventoried the mini bar then u knew we didn’t open the champagne so why are u charging me for something we didn’t open. I asked to speak to her manager Of which she said was unavailable I tried several times to contact her manager to leave a message and each time I was told to call back he would be in after 2 PM ... even after 2pm he was “never available” I still have not spoken to her manager, and I truthfully do not think it is the managers fault because he probably has no idea what happened
