Mi Kasa is not Su Kasa! This company TOUTS that they are pet friendly. This is NOT TRUE!
Overall, the property is nice. The furniture is not comfortable, the bed is mediocre, the water pressure is okay, the cook ware is abhorrent (no capability to mash potatoes except with a big spoon, knives that were dull (thank you maintenance for sharpening), the frying pans I got were 2 of the same size (8 inch) and two small sauce pans, barely able to cook). The maintenance people did bring more more of varying sizes. Which brings me to the NOT pet friendly section.
I originally was coming on business with my husband. Unfortunately, my husband had a medical condition that made it so he was unable to come so I brought one of the two dogs so I could have company while I was here. The dog walk area is well lit and nice. The dog policy about all their breed restrictions is a joke, so many dogs in the dog walk area that are on the restricted list. I would know them as I am a veterinarian.
I had maintenance come to help me with sharpening of the knives. I also texted this, "I do have pets. The dog is caged if you do enter. I am going to borrow or buy what I need. Was hoping for a 13x9 glass pan and/or a larger pan to cook up meat and add ingredients too."
Kasa replied, "Thank you for letting us know. We appreciate the update regarding your pet, and we will notify our on-site team about your request for a 13x9 glass pan or a larger pan so you can cook comfortably."
They replied back shortly after that
"We wanted to provide a quick update regarding your kitchen requests. Currently, the unit is stocked with all available pans and pots, and we do not have any additional ones to provide.
For the knives, our onsite team would be happy to stop by tomorrow to sharpen them using a knife sharpener. Would 10:00 AM work for you for this visit?
Please let us know if you have any questions or need anything else—we’re happy to help!"
I replied:
"10am would be fine. I apologize to your workers if my cute dog barks. She just wants attention. Hopefully she's quiet when they arrive. "
We ended the conversation with Kasa's reply
"Great to hear 10 AM works for you! Don't worry about your dog; our team will be understanding. If there's anything else you need, just let us know. Enjoy your stay!"
Fast forward to today. I had to go to the store to get a 13 x 9 pan so I could bake my dinners and meal prep. I also had to do some other errands around town. I got some messages about a noise violation and I knew my dog was barking, I felt horrible having to leave her for a short time, but the policy for Kasa South Loop Chicago is they do not allow packages and they do not allow deliveries.
So I get a phone call in the evening about the noise violation and then am told that it is against company policy to have a dog kenneled unattended in the property. So, I think to myself..... I can't have deliveries, I can't leave my dog unattended. What's the point of having a pet friendly place to stay if you're vacationing or doing work away from home if you can't leave the prison cell of the property?
This policy is absurd! I understand the barking and if she continued to do it I would have returned her home, however, now I am being forced to because I can't break two policies. Can't have food delivered to your door so you have to go downstairs and leave a dog unattended to get the food.
This company IS NOT PET FRIENDLY.
Otherwise, great for everything else minus the abhorrent cookware.
