10/10 Exceptional
If you are looking for a sleek, safe, and sun-drenched stay in the heart of Hollywood, Kasa Sunset is a fantastic choice. Located right across from KTLA 5 and the Netflix building, the area feels very secure and professional—perfect for those who want to be near the action but in a "corporate" pocket of town.
The highlight of my stay was the room. It was incredibly spacious and arrived spotlessly clean. The layout and furniture are very modern, and the massive windows let in a spectacular amount of natural light. The views are some of the best in the city—you have a clear line of sight to the Hollywood Hills, the Hollywood Sign, and the Griffith Observatory. The bed was also exceptionally comfortable.
This hotel is unique because it operates without a traditional full-time lobby staff.
Access: Entry is entirely contactless. Access codes for the building and your room are sent via text message upon arrival.
Virtual Front Desk: Customer service is handled primarily through text. My experience here was a bit "hit or miss." While they were quick on some occasions, they were rather slow to respond when I reached out about a loud yelling/screaming incident and when I was trying to find a remote in the fitness center. You’ll only see a physical representative during peak check-in and checkout hours.
Fitness Center: Very clean with several machines, plenty of weights, and ample space.
Guest lounge: A standout feature! It offers a large TV, a massive table for gatherings, and plenty of comfortable sofas.
Parking: The underground parking is very safe, though it is an additional cost. I paid approximately $165 for a three-night stay, so be sure to factor that into your budget.
Despite the occasional lag in digital communication, the quality of the room, the safety of the location, and those unbeatable views make Kasa Sunset a top recommendation for the Hollywood area. Just keep your phone charged for your entry codes!
