8/10 Very good
-Very unassuming office-like building with no logos and a recessed blacked out door. Easy to miss.
-When they say all contact is virtual, they mean it. Once we found the front door, access to everything else was straight forward
-Room is listed as a studio but it was essentially a one bedroom without a door, separated from everything else by a long hallway.
-The place was spacious but sparse. It was great that the kitchen included an electric kettle and full sized oven. It was not great that they provided pots and pans but nothing that was oven safe.
-Also not great was the lack of a dresser or any drawers for clothes. No pant hangers either. Just a closet with shirt hangers.
-The scenery was pretty nice. It was overcast most of our stay, but we faced the north with window spanning the entire apartment for a 180 degree view. That means a view of Griffith Observatory, the Hollywood sign and the Capitol Records building in one fell swoop. The only thing that would have made it better was being in a room at least 2 floors higher.
-The fitness center was functional, though, the layout was questionable. My entire stay there were never any sweat towels, cups for the water dispenser, or exercise mats
None of my issues were deal breakers, but it is enough to keep this out of 5 star territory. If you're looking for the hustle and bustle of a hotel with a lobby, bar, and the energy of something constantly in flux, this ain't it. But if you're looking for the closest place to Hollywood worth staying at, that doesn't charge a ridiculous daily junk fee that isn't a motel or hostel, and is comparably quiet, this is the place.
