Think of Airbnb, hotel style! Easy, no-contact check in. You receive a code that will provide you access to all your needs in the hotel. The Room: Small yet efficient. Be sure to unpack! Using the great under the bed easy to access storage, this will free up the space in the room. This is the only hotel that I know of right in the heart of the Castro! They have back up essentials that you can pick up at the front, even some great walk around the room slippers ;) and all the coffee pods you could ask for. Roof Top: As a guest, you have access to a roof top lounge with plenty of seating, a fire pit and some great views! It was a little cool and windy, of course, so the fire pit was a must! The Lobby Bar: Attached Lobby bar has fantastic craft drinks and bites. Service was great. It's a busy place (go early) with a great vibe.

Great hotel. 2nd floor rear room. The AC units on the roof were noisy during day on balcony. The room was lovely.

What an amazing experience! Right in the heart of The Castro. The contactless check in was very user friendly. I was given step by step instructions. Some may say the rooms are too small but if you've stayed in NYC or any other big city it's comparable. I liked moving in for the week and enjoying what the neighborhood has to offer. Check out the Lobby Bar at the bottom of the hotel for your free welcome drink and delicious snacks. Mama Ji's Chinese restaurant one block up was the best I've EVER had and Vico Cavone was really good authentic Italian next door. We'll definitely be back!

This place is proof that good things come in small packages! My god was I impressed! Less than 2 years old, The Hotel Castro sparkled with cleanliness and shined with selective decor gathering inspo from pioneering LGBTQIA legends. Honestly, I was sold the minute I saw the Nespresso maker with unlimited coffee pods in my room! All 9 rooms come with balconies with great views, and as if that wasn't enough...The rooftop patio offers to die for views of the city! Again, the decor did not disappoint here. Beautiful propane heated fire pit with cushy seating all around. There is also a pretty chill looking bar on-site called "The Lobby Bar", although I didn't get a chance to check it out, it was filled with people enjoying their evening. The absolute topper for me was the genuine kindness from the offsite manager Michael. I was celebrating a milestone bday during my stay there, and he left a lovely card with sparkling wine and delish petit 4's!! All in all, The Hotel Castro in SF was a pleasure to stay with. Worth the price, the location is epic, clean streets, parking was easily found(unheard of in SF!) and just Top Notch in my opinion

GREAT Hotel Fabulous place to stay. Convenient location to restaurants etc. Caught the trolley 1/2 block away. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The entire staff was over-the-top friendly and accommodating. Hotel breakfast was very good. Be sure to dine at John's Grill right across the street.

What’s not to love??? A boutique hotel in the middle of the Castro! The rooms are small but well thought out. Plenty of space to stash luggage and store clothing that makes the room functional given the rooms small in nature size (you are in the middle of the city after all). The automated check-in process worried me at first but we received detailed notifications as to what the process was and what to expect and there were no surprises. You can tell they did not skimp on building out the space. Well appointed fixtures and plenty of hooks!!! Yes, the are quirky things that need to be addressed but overall the experience was better than expected and we will be recommending to friends looking to visit SF.

I am writing a review solely on the security deposit request. For a 1 night stay, they will charge $250-$500 deposit, which can take up to 21 days to return to your account. This is absolutely absurd and unheard of in the hotel industry. I’m very surprised nobody else has mentioned this. I will gladly change the tune of my review if the owner addresses my concern before my stay tomorrow. Said “security deposit” is for incidentals? What incidentals? There isn’t a mini bar in the room, nor room service, nor pay TV. So what they are charging for is the damage to the room they believe every guest will do. Again, absurd! Since they do not have a front desk, there isn’t the option of leaving a cash deposit either, which Id much rather do as it would/should be returned faster.

El departamento es para 2 personas, no es para 4 sumamente incómodo para 4 personas no podes ni moverte. El sofá cama súper incómodo té clavas los caños de sofá el la espalda. La puerta que daba al balcón la cerradura estaba rota y pasaron dos horas y no solcionaon el inconveniente. I stayed there over Pride weekend. My room had a king bed which had nice sheets and was very comfortable. The room was small, but stylish and decorated very nicely - they made good use of the space. Nice little balcony with a chair overlooking all the greenery and yards behind the building. Nice to be in the heart of the Castro during Pride :)

We're older and the tech used for check in, etc, was a little intimidating when considering if we would choose kasa as a place to stay. We're here to say the tech was easy to use and we had no problems whatsoever. We heartily recommend the Castro Hotel Kasa to everyone!

Overall, it would be one of several properties I would consider next time visiting family living in the Castro. Great location, beautiful design, very comfortable BUT not recommended for a long stay. I was there a week and some things were annoying by the end. The room is compact and the space felt very small after a few days. Most airbnbs don't offer housekeeping but because this was hotel (and didn't have normal house amenities like cleaning products) it was annoying that it wasn't provided (also only a problem for a longer stay). I was unfortunate and had a room that was super noisy because of street traffic and the bar next door. Would not recommend room 201.

Overall a great experience. Whatever app is used for the check-in is kind of clunky and the noise sensor went off despite us being relatively quiet. Despite those little hang-ups, the stay was great. The hotel and rooms are chic and the location is pretty unbeatable.

I had the best experience on my business trip! Seamless check-in process and one of the most comfortable beds ever! I will definitely stay again at this cute and perfectly located hotel again.

I had the chance to stay here last month, and I could not have been more pleased with our trip. The rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully curated with everything you could need, including a Nespresso, clothes steamer, and THE most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. The location couldn't have been better, and it was close to a lot of great restaurants. Plus, there's a Molle Stone's grocery right across the street. The service was impeccable, from both the GM (Ola), as well as the Kasa team. They were there when we needed them, but unobtrusive and allowed us to enjoy our privacy when desired. Will absolutely stay here again the next time I'm in town.

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was an awful experience! Room was small for what you pay. The pillow covers felt super cheap like it was purchased from Target!! I expected better quality bedding than this for what we were paying. The incident that will keep me from coming back or recommending this hotel to anyone is when one of my items were missing in the room. When I asked the front desk about this "missing item" they did not have a straight answer except we'll do our best. I will never come back to a place that lacks morals and integrity like this cheaply furnished hotel.. pillow cases gave me rashes it was so rough. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere! There are way better options in SF with good staff that have morals and integrity!

The check-in process is so detailed, but they flubbed the first part. Booked for 2 nights, stayed 1 and left. Room - I had an upgraded master suite. Very loose description. Somewhere around 190 square feet including the area with the pull-out sofa. Just tiny. I had to crawl over my partner to go to the bathroom. There's not even enough space around it to walk. It's shoved into a corner. There's a sensor directly above the bed that flashes red every time you move. I covered mine with a piece of paper so it wouldn't see anything. Otherwise it would have been flashing all night. I dunno - just seems weird. I didn't like the automated/digital functions. I'm into tech, but not at the expense of personal touch. They're not tailored to your situation so you get stuff like this "No worries Dan, this was just an automated message. Feel free to disregard anything further you receive from us!". And if you have an issue on check-in or with the room - wait, wait, wait.... It's well appointed and the furniture is well made, but overall, I can't recommend it. I've never been in a hotel room, even in Asia, where you were packed into a corner and had to crawl over your partner to leave the bed.

The Hotel Castro is so lovely! The room was spacious, clean, modern, and had great wifi (great if you need to work like I did). The check in process and access in general was seamless. I appreciated the ease of communication, as well as the great location. Its convenient and easy to walk around to areas like the Castro, Dolores, and the Mission. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Super cute boutique hotel! Checking in was so simple, and you absolutely cannot beat the location!

Currently on a 5-day stay at the Hotel Castro. I t's very hip, not gonna lie! I was surprised at the small size of the room we stayed in. They did fit quite a few amenities inside, but there were some pretty glaring misses for a week-long stay. For example, no microwaves. The refrigerator was somewhat difficult to locate (it's in a drawer) and it frankly was pretty small. Think mayyyybe 4 water bottles, at most. There are no employees on site, which has pluses and minuses to it. We were not able to get any additional towels for the stay, which was a bummer, but we made it work. The view is P H E N O M E N A L . Our room was facing away from the main strip, but it was still stunning. The rooftop terrace is a great place to spend sipping your morning coffee with a 360 view of San Francisco's ominous skyline. The location is amazing as well; walking distance to all kinds of shops, pubs, museums, and public transit. Would I stay here again? Yes. However, if you are thinking about a stay longer than a weekend, I would consider other locations as well. All in all, good experience that I would recommend to others for a weekend stay.
