Cool location, big space, bad beds, spotty customer service.
Likes: The location of this place is awesome and can't be beat. It was incredibly clean and absolutely enormous! We really appreciated having the space for our family to spread out.
Dislikes: We knew going into this stay that they don't offer parking, which we weren't concerned about. The available parking lots are not far away and not expensive, especially the deck at 171 River, which is only $7 per day. However, there was an ENORMOUS event (Artisphere) going on in downtown Greenville, and we ended up circling every parking lot within a half mile for over an hour on Friday night. When we were unable to find anywhere to park after this period of time, we called the Mint House, and they informed us that they would call someone, and then get back to us. They never called back, even though the private lot AT the Mint House was mostly empty all night. The next day the same event was going on, and I was quite worried that we wouldn't be able to park again. So, since I never heard back, I called them on Saturday morning (again), and, after several hours, they finally informed us that they would leave a pass in our room.
Additionally, like other reviewers have noted, the beds are uncomfortable, and the rooms with windows have mini-blinds and no curtains.
In short, I had to spend 2 hours dealing with Mint House-related problems, and didn't get any decent sleep. Those are real deal-breakers for me, and there are plenty of other cool places to stay on the Reedy.
