Tampa Bay Food Tours spends a lot of time exploring St. Pete, and Mint House by Hilton is an incredibly convenient home base if you want to park the car and explore on foot.
The location is a big part of the appeal. It sits near the Central Avenue roundabout, roughly between the EDGE District and Grand Central District, putting restaurants, bars, breweries, shops and plenty of local discoveries within walking distance in either direction.
But what really impressed me was the room itself. I honestly could have stayed for a week!
This feels much more like having your own apartment than a traditional hotel room. Full-size refrigerator, stove, coffee maker, dishwasher, washer and dryer — oh my! 😂 Add a large balcony, and you really have everything you need for an extended stay.
There’s also a lovely pool area with a definite resort feel, including lounge chairs right in the pool. It’s a nice surprise in the middle of the city and gives you a reason to spend a little time at the hotel instead of constantly heading out.
Valet parking was $40, and the entire experience is very technology-driven. The Kasa group that operates the property under the Hilton umbrella is clearly trying to make the stay as seamless as possible. Check-in, check-out, room access and valet instructions and codes are all handled digitally.
That said, it isn't completely staff-free. There was someone available near the entrance at a simple card-table-style setup with a laptop, and valet staff were always available during my stay. So, you get the efficiency of the digital system without feeling like there’s absolutely no one around if you need help.
⭐ ListenInSider Pro Tip: For me, the sweet spot is the location. You’re positioned to explore both the EDGE and Grand Central areas along Central Avenue. For a multi-night stay, between the full kitchen, washer/dryer, balcony, resort-like pool and walkability, you can unpack, settle in and explore St. Pete without constantly getting back in the car.
