10/10 Exceptional
Great Experience - Full Kitchen - Extremely Clean - 5 stars for location - Great Pool - Walking distance to everything!
Here’s our tips and personal experience to hopefully assist the next guests.
The Mint House had large modern rooms, with a 5 star location, because it’s literally near everything. Only a 5 min walk to the arena, aquarium, Publix, river walk, a dozen restaurants, and the cruise lines too. Yes, I said Publix :)
The room was a huge value to us and was actually one of the lowest price options for this weekend, but it certainly offers more to offer than standard hotels.
This is more of a nicely stocked apartment/air-bnb experience, with a bunch of cool extras. For us, it was better than a hotel. We didn’t see one person under 21 the entire stay.
We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the entire property and it actually smells like a high-end vegas salon, very clean. These little touches made our experience even better.
If you plan ahead, and have your registration complete in the kasa system, this will be a breeze and you’ll be so glad you stayed here.
If you wait until you arrive and then start trying to figure out the check in procedures, codes, etc…you may become a little frustrated.
We just parked our vehicle and walked everywhere. We took Ubers to longer destinations instead of driving ourselves because parking in Tampa is expensive regardless of where you go. Parking for events is always more $ than taking Uber’s in Tampa.
14 tips for staying at the Mint House from a normal couple that had no idea what to expect.
1. Open the emails they send and register with Kasa. Don’t forget to do this step. You will need a copy of your drivers license handy and a credit card. They hold $250 for incidentals like most hotel chains do, pretty standard.
2. In the email there is a code to gain access to the building and your room. It’s the same code, so you wont forget it. Make sure that code is ready available when you get to the front door.
3. Parking here is so simple and relatively cheap. You’re literally surrounded by “pay by the day”parking lots. The one we used was 1 block away on 910 E whiting and it was only $10 a day. “717 Parking” is the company and they have an app that made it very simple.
4. Print the parking pass in advance and put it on your dash to save time.
5. When you arrive, there is an area at the building on E. Whiting where you can quickly unload your coolers and large luggage before you park the vehicle. It looks like a mini parking garage.
6. Bring your food and drinks - It’s an apartment with a full kitchen, with all the cooking appliances & other necessities including a full-size washer/dryer.
7. Huge modern bathrooms stocked with quality soaps and lotions. A+
Has a cool queen size bed that comes down out of the ceiling by remote and it’s actually very comfortable. The pillows were also a better quality than many hotels.
8. Pool area was incredible and quiet. Pool, full outdoor kitchen and grill, dining tables, lots of seating, 100 inch Tv with couches. We went 3 days in a row and literally never saw anyone there. It felt exclusively private to us.
9. It Has a new modern fitness area for you to use. Everything is literally brand new.
10. Big screen Roku Television in the room. Roku has plenty to watch these days, but bring your codes for streaming if you watch specific stuff.
11. We had a balcony room and I highly recommend it if there are any available. Was a nice feature and made the space even that much bigger.
12. Additional towels, linen, toilet paper, sheets, etc are present on every floor in a nice glass cabinet. You just grab what you need.
13. It has a really nice business center on the first floor with a cool little coffee shop across the street. Both were very convenient for guests.
14. We rarely saw anyone while we were there which was nice. If you want the sound of typical hotel chaos, this isn’t it. This was a quiet and relaxing experience for us and we will stay here whenever we are in Tampa.
Hope this review is helpful to future guests of the Mint House - G.C
