This review is only for the UPSTAIRS - the bar/pool on the rooftop of the hotel. The space is very nice, three different areas; one space has multiple tables to sit and eat with great views. The large bar is located inside - and you walk through it to get to the pool space. The pool side has a small wading pool, there is no way you could swim in it, as it's too small. There are a handful of tables on this side, but also a large oversized couch that fits 10 or so people.
The menu is very diverse, with muddled drinks and speciality liquors. Unfortunately our service was awful. When first sitting outside, the wait staff appeared to see us, but only attended other people around us. We were eventually approached, and when the rest of our party came by, we moved to a table. Upon ordering, we provided them a credit card to hold. After our first round of drinks, we waited for the wait staff to return...and waited...and waited. Finally, we went to see what was going on. It turned out that our wait staff had left for the night without informing us. By this time it was too late for us to order another round, so we went, retrieved our credit card, and left. A shame, because the service ruined what could have been a good night.
I hope this service issue was simply a one-off, and should we go back to UPSTAIRS we'll have a better experience!
