Very impressed with this hotel. The service was attentive and the decor and ambiance are just right for a downtown hotel. Lots of history to this building. The rooftop is a great place for drinks and a view. I stayed in the hotel, which gave me easy access to the rooftop bar. Non-guests need to wait in a long line in the evenings to get to the top. Clientele for the bar are skinny-jeans' wearing hipsters. The only complaint I have about this hotel is that the mattress was not comfortable at all (too hard) and I did not get much sleep.

Fantastic food and coffee, loved all the design touches. Small things were weird - one, my husband's feet hit the wall when laying in bed, and we had a mid-size room and he's about 5'9". I had a lot of trouble with the ironing board. The feet wouldn't lock into position very well and would shift when applying a little pressure; it was also very small and I couldn't slip my shirt very far down onto the surface to where I could only iron a little bit at a time. Could have also used a little more counter space by the sink. Nice to have a fridge, but it was stuffed with mini bar drinks so it was hard to use. Sad, gender inequality story on the bathroom door. Great location, and very friendly staff. Nice warm comforter and pillows. They'll check your luggage when you're in between spaces. Loved the shower supplies. Black washcloth for makeup removal is really smart! Great blow dryer. Quirky/nice paper system for leaving feedback and the menu and such. Check out at noon was nice.

The rooms here have a great setup and decor (its on the artsy hip and masculine side). Its certainly elevated from your usual hotel. The restaurant looks nice but I've only had drinks on the rooftop - appropriately strong. The design details are really alluring. I'd just say its a bit too pricey but sort of what you expect with current clientele.

For the price they charge (five star) it's really not worth it. The location's cool, it's packed with hipsters and the restaurant is tasty, but it's overpriced. The rooms are cramped - we had a medium and it was very small compared to your average hotel room. They're styled in an interesting, but not amazing ways (yes, I've seen rust, brass and black walls before). The service, I have to say, was awesome. The greeters, valet, servers, front desk - all super helpful and friendly. This was greatly appreciated. It's just after staying at the Ace in Portland - where for a reasonable price we had a stylish and massive room - this was a bit of a let-down. The rooftop "pool" is also just an oversized hottub ;)

Incredible hotel. Rooms are beautiful with Pendleton blankets. Staff are friendly, genuine and helpful. Rooftop bar is a great spot. If I had any criticism it would be that the elevators take an inexplicably long time. What's that about?

This place is all sorts of awesome. Rocking a retro-chic/hipster (not sure what to call it) in the rooms, it enhances the building outside architecture. It's much nicer on the inside than the exterior would lead you to believe. Friendly staff who found us a room on a Saturday night (which in LA is no small feat). Free wifi, nice inroom mini bar selection (with the typical eye watering prices), and solid bathroom/shower setup. Road noise can be a little loud at times but they give you free earplugs just in case.

The rooftop is the place to go. Amazing views!

Went to a private event here the other day, and had been to the adjoining theater in the past. The staff is friendly, the location's very ooh-la-dtla, but it's the building itself that makes this place grand. Beautiful architecture treated with the respect it deserves.

This is a very hipster hotel in the newly revamped Broadway area in Downtown Los Angeles. The rooms are a bit snug for the price, but the area is nice with many upcoming restaurants and its on the lower end of pricing when compared to the rest of DTLA hotels. Some rooms even come with a guitar which is pretty sweet.
