Such a great stay, at a great price. Highly recommend the rooms with private bathrooms. We will definitely be back!

The Clyde hotel is great The Clyde is so unique and charming. The rooms and building are well decorated and have a cozy, modern feel without taking away from the buildings history. Checking in was very simple, and I love that the rooms are unlocked via code instead of a key! It makes it feel very very secure. I can’t wait to stay again!

When we arrived at the Clyde Hotel for our stay, we did not realize that the building was a historic hotel and were delighted to see how much of the building was original. It was a delightful insight into how hotels operated in the past. Additionally, the staff are fantastic and personable. I've never stayed at a hotel quite like this before and I certainly plan to do so again!

I stayed here a bunch over the years when this hotel had different owners and loved it. Stayed here a few months back and got charged a $342 smoking fee. I don’t smoke and certainly did not this day. I tried several times to call the hotel and figure out how or why this happened and got a call center in another country and was told housekeeping smelled smoke. The hospitality manager who emailed me said she was on site but upon further investigation worked for this customer service company that was clearly outsourced. You book, reserve and deposit for your stay through the site. The front desk is hardly attended and those folks can’t or won’t help. This place is a total scam with no reachable staff or recourse if something like this happens. I stay in hotels about half the year for work and I’ve never been treated so poorly in 25 years. Avoid this place. The rooms seemed run down and dirty compared to when it was the Ace as well.

So cute and affordable!! We loved how kitch-y it was, with the neon sign and jazz music playing when we walked in. Only complaint is that the split AC was not great, so it was a bit stuffy in the room. Otherwise, amazing!

The hotel is in a good location. Felt pretty safe the whole time. Room was nice, and Kylie at the front desk was amazing!

Quick communication, went the extra mile to make a warm welcome for my mom's birthday, kind people working the desk, conveniently place coffee next door plus they provide discounts for the guests at the Clyde! The only downfall was the area, it's unfortunate that there were a lot of houseless people in the area and a lot of noise. Although this is not the fault of the hotel itself, it was a bit hard to sleep. Overall a great experience and my mom had a wonderful birthday trip.I would book here again!

Kind of felt like staying in a college dorm. Overall, the place was clean. Pretty basic accommodations. We really enjoyed the neighboring coffee shop and that there were tokens provided to use there. It was among the best food and drink we’d ever gotten from a coffee shop and staff was friendly.

I am incredibly disappointed with our stay here due to completely misleading information on the website. When booking, the photos of our specific room type clearly showed a private, attached bathroom. Nowhere on the website or during the booking process did it state that our room layout required sharing a bathroom with the entire floor. ​We were only notified of this shared setup upon arrival at check-in, leaving us stuck with no real option to change or fix the situation since we were already set on our plans. This is blatant false advertising. If you expect privacy, do not book here based on the photos—confirm directly with the desk first.

I really enjoyed my stay. I was in town for classes at OSU and will need to be in Portland more regularly. I will absolutely be staying again and have recommended to others. If you're looking for a relaxed, industrial, communal (and yet private!) - also, the coffee tokens were amazing and the attached coffee shop was delicious and very reasonably priced. The nights were quiet and the communal spaces were as well. Check in and out could not have been easier and their communication is very proactive.

It’s a PERFECT spot for solo travelers! Check-in was a breeze. I got in early around 9am and checkin was supposed to be at 4pm so they allowed me to leave my bags while I roamed around the city for a bit. Around noon I received a text that my room was ready for early check in at 1pm so I headed back to catch up on some rest. Room was very clean once I got in. The setup was exactly what matched the photo! The only little technical issue I had was hooking up the streaming service to the TV to watch Netflix, Disney Plus etc. But the hotel staff was very prompt when I messaged for help. As for a nights rest, just know some people make some noise late outside but the room provides earplugs to help alleviate all the night time noise. They even have a white noise machine to help too! Overall, my experience from the helpful staff, the coffee shop and the Photo Booth in the lobby was an absolute 10/10. I will definitely recommend this to family and friends that come by!

The hotel is a perfect location for walking around downtown. I got there early and was able to leave my luggage at the front desk and they offered me an early check in if a room became available. (Which I was able to check in 2 hours earlier than expected which was very nice.)

I really loved the hotel, it was different but very nice. Very clean in the room, loved the layout. It was quiet so I was able to sleep, unfortunately I do not like that there isn't safe parking. We parked literally less than a minute away at an over night parking lot and our rental got broken into. Smashed window.. so sadly although I loved the hotel, I may not return due to thw parking

Likes: Great location. Super efficient mobile check-in and check-out. Huge room with fancy interesting gadgets. Dislikes: Someone knocked my door at early morning ignoring my 'don't disturb' sign...

It’s a funky little spot minutes away from Powell’s. My sibling and I loved the beds and appreciated that it clearly had been designed! We just wished there were breakfast, but there are plenty of options nearby.

Had a great experience overall. If I come back to Portland I would definitely stay here again. The King Suite I stayed in was beautiful and spacious for a reasonable price in a great location.

The check in process was non existent!! Very poor service and NOT WORTH THE MONEY!! Cancelled my stay.. and DID NOT GET A REFUND!! Ugh 😠😡

^ Likes: I appreciated the lady we talked with on the phone to help accommodate our room swap. The room we booked wasn’t advertised for what it was on bookings.com and we were happy with the room originally and weren’t happy with the lady at the front desk. She was very unhelpful and kept telling us to look on the website rather than answering our questions. But once we called and talked to Java I believe? She was really great and was also able to offer was a last minute refund on our last few nights when other rooms were available to swap. Dislikes: ^

I had a fantastic stay at Casa by Clyde in downtown Portland! Booking was a breeze, and they were flexible with my arrival time. They stored my luggage when I got in early, and they even checked me in ahead of schedule. The room was spotless and cozy—exactly what I needed after a long trip. The front desk team was incredibly helpful and friendly, offering great recommendations around town. I felt safe, comfortable, and well taken care of. Highly recommend.

This place got the job done and the style of the room was unique and fun to stay in. I spilled water on the floor and used a towel to clean it up, the towel came up black. The a/c unit was set to 67 but was not blowing cold air if it was blowing air at all. The location is close to Powell’s bookstore and restaurants.

The place was great, close to everything. No parking area in the hotel, you need to look for parking and it is expensive if you stay several days. We have a problem in the room that was assigned to us but the staff was very helpful and resolve the situation right away.

The room was pretty small for the price point and they didn’t have any night stand or table next to the bed. There was also only outlets in one section of the room so charging phones while sleeping was a pain. The room was quite small and not laid out very well. They could use a table or nightstand and more outlets. I didn’t really like the layout and it was quite small even though it’s advertised as a queen room. Overall not really worth the price point. There also isn’t any one at the front desk past 5 or 6pm which I thought was kinda weird.

This place was very aesthetic, walkable to Portland attractions, and even had a bonus vintage PhotoBooth in the lobby. Would recommend for your Portland excursion

We are kind of over AirBnBs. So If you're like us and love old timey boutique hotels, this former Ace hotel knocks it out of the park. Kasa has been spectacular at preserving all the wonderful vintage details of the building while still providing an elevated experience. Also, the attached coffee shop is soooo good! Exactly what we were looking for in downtown Portland

Great Downtown Portland Hotel Near Main Sights The Hotel is in a very lively and convenient area of downtown Portland just 400 feet from Powell’s Books. The staff was very responsive and helped us stay in a quiet room on the top floor. The coffee and tea selection were better than the average hotel and the room itself beautiful and spacious with nice views. We would definitely stay there again!

Very cool vibe! The staff was super helpful! We arrived early and were able to super easily store our luggage until our room was ready and even offered an early check in!

A great place to stay in Portland

My stay was pleasant thanks to the convenient location and the friendly and always helpful staff. I will be booking a room again when I return in January.

I stayed here 10 years ago when it was still the Ace Hotel. My experience then was great. The Clyde is basically using the esthetics Ace created but ripped out all the soul. Nothing seems to have been updated in 10 years, including the air conditioning which did not work in my room. Since there was no one at the front desk I had a 3 hour text exchange with someone who advised me to flip the breaker and unplug the air conditioner to reset it. That alone sounds like a liability. Seeing as thw air conditioner is 12 feet off the ground the only way I could reach it was to flip over the trash can, stand on top of it and hope it doesn't cave in. While up there unplugging it i checked the filter which unleashed a shower of thick dust in my face. The other solution i was given was a fan that was located in the towel cabinet by the front desk. Only problem is, there was no fan in the cabinet by the front desk. Finally they switched me to another room. That problem was finally solved but I woke up this morning to shower and there were no towels, so I had to walk back down to the lobby to the towel cabinet i was very familiar with at this point. After I checked out I get a text from the anonymous reach by text front desk clerk apologizing and offering me a 10% coupon off my next stay. Honestly, if they didn't make an offer at all I probably wouldn't have left this review and just never stayed there again. But the shear audacity of offering a 10% coupon on a FUTURE visit was too much. Ive had bigger problems at other hotels but never left a negative review because they either immediately remedied the problem by upgrading me to a suite or refunding me for my stay. 10% off a cute stay is just an insult.

The Clyde has a unique and fun vibe that makes it stand out from other hotels. The staff upfront is very friendly and the attached coffee shop is convenient.

Best location and super staff! The Clyde is my favorite place to stay when traveling to Portland - and close to everything I need!

Would have picked a different hotel, parking was a hassle, no staff around , random people come to lobby , small room, bed low to ground, some shared bathrooms, just skip this property

i was locked in the bathroom from the inside and count escape Likes: staff was nice. i appreciate them Dislikes: i got locked in the bathroom for an hour cuz the door broke and i couldn’t call the front desk directly it had to be wired to some indian call center 1st. kind of insane tbh to be locked in the bathroom at a hotel. staff was really nice but i feel it is a little silly insane no like upper management reached out being like yeah im sorry you got trapped in our bathroom for an hour 😭. could have been way worse if i didnt have my phone or it was late at night or i had something later. but yeah kind of crazy. would be willing to change this review if reached out to. like if i wasn’t locked in the bathroom from the inside my review is like a 8 rather than a 1 lol

Really affordable and charming accommodations in the heart of downtown Portland. Very walkable, a great option if you want to see the city but you don’t want to worry about renting a car to get around. The downtown noise was a little loud on the weekend, but the sliding shutters on the window helped immensely with the streetlights and noise.
