DO NOT STAY HERE.
I was so excited to come to Portland for the first time to be in a wedding for one of my best friends. She suggested staying at the Ace downtown due to its central location. I have never had a problem staying at an Ace, so I figured there would be no issues. I guess the Ace sold over to new ownership and rebranded as the Clyde Hotel, which uses the reviews of the Ace as their own.
Firstly, just to make this clear, this is now a hostel- not a hotel.
I had prepaid and booked a king suite. Upon virtual check in, I realized I had been placed in a queen room. The hotel was completely sold out (apparently) and they could not put me in the correct room. The front desk has no authority to do anything and instead refers you to a virtual front desk number to help you. After spending days trying to get them on the phone to resolve this and enjoy my weekend, I was constantly being passed to another customer service agent who "needed to speak to upper management". Ultimately, they were not offering me a refund for their mistake. On top of that, the room I was placed in had a broken AC and the windows would not open to get air in. They would not bring me new towels even after asking twice. They eventually offered to refund me 80$ which is only 1/3 of the difference in cost of the two rooms. Save yourself the stress, time, and money lost disputing with the virtual front desk and stay elsewhere. I will never stay at another Kasa property again.
