Very nice place, neighborhood is ok despite a lot of homeless people around the hotel

Hotel was great. Unique experience. However parking is pay by day. At night it does not feel safe to walk around the area.

Great location. Walls are thin though - you can hear people walking around and talking in the hallway. Room is great though

Highly recommended!!! Likes: Location is very central and very good. Was a bit sceptic how automated/online check in and check out would function, but it was simple and perfect. Room very clean, equiped with all amenities and everything one might need, and everything worked perfectly. Special plus is artistic "touch" in room decoration and combination of modern and classical. And in addition to all those, I believe it's the best value for money in Portland. Very satisfied. Highly recommended!!! Dislikes: Everything was perfect

Super cool hotel. Great spot for tourists

We had the room that had access to two shared bathrooms. I was initially concerned about this but it was fine. It was near our room, cleaned often, had supplies, and always available. I also enjoyed the aesthetic of our room as well as the rest of the hotel. We weren’t aware that there was a pantry available every morning with a continental breakfast, so that was nice! We also utilized the mezzanine, lobby, and attached coffee shop. We were also in walking distance from so many great spots. Parking was a little annoying but that was expected and we found a nearby garage for a reasonable price that we used every night. I’d definitely stay again but probably get the suit next time!

We love to stay at The Clyde when we are going to concerts in the downtown area. Very walkable! Staff is great and super helpful!

The place was great! So close to Powell’s Books and many other attractions. The place was clean and lovely! They had a record player in the room that we were able to enjoy!

Great location. Reason for three star is air conditioner was not working in room 304. The only offer was to provide a fan. Fortunately it was a cooler evening in mid August so it wasn’t bad with the window open.

PORTLAND DOWNTOWN IS A Trip to remember. Likes: Surrounding is convenient and walking distance. Dislikes: The drinking is always not available.

The hotel failed to disclose that my booking was non-refundable, omitting this critical information throughout the booking process. When I attempted to cancel due to a family emergency, they ignored multiple emails, leaving me in the dark for six days. Once I finally reached them, they continued to obstruct my request for a cancellation and refund. Due to their deceptive policies, poor communication, and mishandling of this situation, I will never book with them again.

Would do it a million times over

The location of this hotel is convenient, and the aesthetic is quite cool and cozy. Although we did have difficult sleeping well during our stay due to a very firm mattress and the AC being out in our room for our 2 night stay. Staff could not be helpful as when we went to ask about maintenance updates they were out on break or not present at the front desk. We texted the help-desk line and were given a small fan but no other support for our very warm room.

Despite not having on site parking, the room was lovely. It was so convenient with the online check in and we did not have any trouble accessing the building. It was quiet and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

If you are staying for a night or two, I’d recommend this place. It’s probably not a good option for longer stays. Online help desk was nice and responsive. Onsite front desk was frequently absent and seemed confused about certain policies. Hotel was nicely decorated and clean, but normal hotel services like cleaning or restocking toilet paper weren’t available without a charge. WiFi was unreliable. 2 minutes before my check-in, I received an email that WiFi was out with no answers on when it would be available again. Large homeless population in neighborhood, but overall a good location. Lots of nearby restaurants and shopping. Not far from Portland attractions.

I really liked this hotel. I like the vintage look to it and it had everything I needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for having me. I appreciate it more than you know, no doubt.

Perfect location! The hotel was trendy yet budget friendly. It was a bit annoying having two different codes for the room and bathroom as we had to make sure we brought our phones every time to remember. Also the room smelt a bit stale because the windows don’t open but the aircon was good. Would stay again though!

Great, centrally located hotel in Portland. We loved being able to walk to many shops, cafes, and public transit options. Really unique room style that we enjoyed. There isn’t a typical front desk, but this isn’t a big deal as all your check in details are well communicated beforehand. We also really appreciated the early check in accommodation we received.

Fine place. Not too great

Amazing! This might be low on the list of things to look for, but best coffee I've ever had in a hotel. Portland has great coffee, so I almost skipped it, but so glad I stopped in the breakfast room. Room was cool! Record player with some vinyl ( most I had never heard of.) The room was super clean, decorated like a real person had spent time thinking about it, and towels were new and very nice. Black out curtains a huge plus in the heatwave. I used the room to have a study retreat and it felt like it was designed just for that. I was in the king room with private bath and large couch. Lots of places in a room to study, so it was perfect. Bed was wonderful. AC worked incredibly well!!! Such an important thing on a heatwave week. The only room thing I'd change is making it easier to access the shower soaps from the claw foot tub. And maybe give a step stool to get in. It's a big step up. The only policy thing I'd change is late checkout. most hotels just let you stay an extra hour or two if no one is coming immediately, no biggie. When I asked, I had to pay $25 for an extra hour. After such a great stay it stunk to feel nickel and dimed. Especially since it was empty. That's Kasa (owner/ manager though, not the hotel itself. 11am is on the early side to require check out anyway. I will stay when ever I'm on Portland. Nice street and walkable to everything.

Very charming hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. Centrally located, makes it easy to get to all the best spots in Portland. Restaurants, bars, shopping, movie theater are all a short walk away. Highly recommend this property!

This spot is so cute. A historic hotel near everything! It was a small and simple room with great design and a lot of natural light. I felt comfy. The only downside is at night there is some street light that’s seeps in through the windows! AC worked great too to beat the summer heat.

This was really a nice place to stay! We were very comfortable, even in the smaller room. Great location! Not one complaint!

Great place to stay, great location, would definitely recommend

the check in process was complicated and the technology failed so the hotel clerk had to call tech support and the other clerk kept interrupting so she could use the laptop for her social media and music. it took an hour to get into the room.

Nice hotel in the middle of the city. We were pleasantly surprised to find someone at the reception. We were given a map with their favorite places marked and other recommendations. The online check-in is a bit confusing as some information is not what it says on the message. As for breakfast, don't count on it. We knew about this shortcoming from previous reviews, so we were not surprised. The room and the whole hotel was very clean and cozy. The people at the front desk were nice and helpful. Highly recommended.

Clean, but a little shabby in the furniture department. Lobby and building ver cool; the vibe from the staff and the lack of periodicals in the lobby made things feel less customer friendly than I prefer.

The only downside was, no parking on site. I wish Expedia included that criteria upfront. It just makes it extra tedious when traveling alone with children.

They only have wall mounted units for heat/cool that look quite dated. We were there on a hot day/night, and the AC was not working, or wasn't working well enough. This was true for many folks staying that night. We asked about fans, and they had none. We are far into a pretty hot summer int he NW, so there is no way this problem was new, and the fact that they had no fans.... As well, they have a room with food in it in the morning, it is a converted room on the second floor, and there is not much signage and it is not at all clear where breakfast is in the online communications the hotel relies upon. I finally found it, and the room was unstocked at about 7:30 AM. There were some yogurts in the fridge, no clean dishes and 2 containers of cereal. That's it. Overall, this hotel needs to attend to the details, it's a great concept but not done well.

It was the perfect place for a weekend stay.

We were surprised at what we saw when we arrived. The place was very different than what the photos showed on the website. The furniture was worn with rips and patches. The bathroom was in the middle of the room and the sink was on the opposite side of the bathroom, next to the bed. There was an odor that we couldn't handle, so after contacting Expedia, checked out immediately.

Cool hotel, but be prepared for all of Portland's craziness to happen right out side your windrow.
