10/10 Exceptional
We stayed at the Dexter for a long weekend in Elk Rapids this summer, and had a great time!
Pros:
- Just a short walk to downtown, so we walked in for breakfast/coffee most days without using our car.
- Nice big bathroom,
- Comfy beds! They emailed us before check-in to ask if we needed anything, and when we asked for extra pillows, they had them in the room when we arrived!
- AC worked great, we were cool all weekend.
Cons:
- The lounge chair in the corner was maybe the most uncomfortable piece of furniture I've ever sat in. It was bad even for a hotel chair, lol
- The "kitchenette" was nice. I liked having a second sink, and the fridges were a little bigger than a normal minifridge. That said, there were no plates, bowls, cutlery, etc. I wish there were at least some bowls and silverware for cereal, if they're going to advertise having "kitchenettes", rather than just a hotel room with a fridge.
- Breakfast was tasty, but it was just coffee and 1 kind of muffin.
Overall we had a great weekend, and I would absolutely stay here on our next trip to Elk Rapids! The rooms had all the amenities we need and you can't beat the location.
