Overall, very lackluster experience (March 2025). It would be an average hotel with a cute lobby and satisfactory rooms, except for the fact that it's now managed by a company called Kasa which was horrible to deal with.
Despite the fact there is a front desk person in the lobby, you cannot directly call the hotel. You can only go through the Kasa call center and they will NOT connect you with the hotel.
Kasa makes you check in virtually before you get there. The process prompts you to pay to check in early (like $40 for an hour or like $80 for more than that.) We didn't pay, and the front desk person just gave us early access once we got there.
After leaving, we realized my husband forgot his bathing suit in the room. They wouldn't let us talk to a person at the actual hotel. We had to file a lost item form, which informed us we'd have to pay $60 for shipping if they found it. Didn't hear back for over a week. Surprise: they didn't find it. Sooooo I guess the hotel threw it away?
Adding insult to injury: The bar that used to be there closed in late 2024 or early 2025 (yes, even though it's still on the website.) The hot tub was out of service.
Kasa management is austere and made me feel like I was being scammed the whole time I stayed there. $80 to check in early? $60 to send back a BATHING SUIT which actually they couldn't even find? Give me a break.
New Orleans has plenty of cute hotels. Stay elsewhere. And if you want to be on Frenchman St, stay in an Airbnb nearby. I would never stay at a Kasa property again.
