Good hotel. Prices not too high. Amazing restaurant on first floor, kind of expensive, but worth the money.

Quite expensive for such a poor room conditions. It wasn't very clean, and the WiFi extremely slow...

Several things were not good. The manager was not available after 6:00pm to address my issues with my room. My wife found a live spider in the sheets in the bed; good thing we brought our own sheets; the remotes for both tv’s in the my suite were not programmed properly and no batteries were available to replace the old ones; no hot water to take a shower, it was lukewarm at best. I was not satisfied with the services or the “lack thereof”.

The Lafayette Hotel is old fashioned in the best sense of the word. It is well-kept, clean and the rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds. Kevin the concierge and the other staff were exceptionally good. It is located in a nice quiet area but it is only a 10 minute walk the from the French Quarter.

Good location, nice old hotel, big rooms, friendly staff, wi-fi in my room was very, very slow, and housekeeping a bit erratic. Ran out of coffee, only decaf... Not great if you have jet lag:-)

. Location!! 2 blocks away is a full service grocery store, Rouses. AND CVS. ST.charles Streetcar towards Uptown right across the street .

The workers were missing most of the time. No one would answer the phone when we called from the room & during night when the key wouldn’t unlock the door to enter the hotel. Room carpet needs a good cleaning! Will never recommend this place or stay again.

Staff was the worst, never would answer phone and was asleep when we needed help more than once! Rooms was okay, TV did not work.

Great area but this morning someone opened the door to our room and quickly left. I’m not sure if it was cleaning ladies who didn’t know we had the room but when i asked them they said they didn’t know what i was talking about and that the cleaning ladies hadn’t done anything. When I asked the front desk, I was told that “this just happened last week too” and received no help after so don’t stay unless you’re okay with people walking into your room while you’re sleeping.

If I ever try to re-book here, somebody slap me! Booked and paid for half my stay in August 2022 for a Nov 20, 2022 stay. Advertised full refund before 72 hours from stay. However, had to cancel on November 2nd, and hotel is refusing a refund. Let’s see, November 2nd…18 days before…I think thats over 72 hours. So I have no reservation, and they took my money anyway. Well, at least they’ll get some free reviews.

First, let me say the staff was 10 stars! A shout out to two gentlemen at The Lafayette ... Bobby, front desk and Kevin, bell desk. I had a slight problem with my room and Bobby quickly acknowledged the issue and went above and beyond to rectify. Kevin thank you for your service as a Marine! Thank you for directing and helping us with our New Orleans adventures. Hotel is in easy walking distance to restaurants and Bourbon Street.

One star off because room carpet had a nasty, crusty stain next to the foot of the bed. It was gross to step on and I didn't want to think about wonder what happened there to cause this icky circumstance there.

Charming boutique hotel in a convenient location pretty close to everything you'd want to walk to downtown and in the French Quarter. Happy with our stay there, decent prices.

Great Location and great experience We were there for the Crescent City Blues Festival and loved the location of the hotel. The folks that served us were all pleasant and very helpful. Everyone had smiles and showed the spirit of New Orleans. We did some sightseeing before and after festival and used the St Charles Street Car right outside the front door to go uptown. It was an easy walk to French Quarter and to the Riverfront.

I really really wish I’ve had read these reviews before booking this hotel. If you’re looking for a comfort 4 stars hotel staying for a pleasant trip, please stay away from this one. I can forgive the historical building doing their best for renovations but the pictures they use online are far off from the actual experience. First, check in counter is a tiny corner office and the steak house restaurant on the first floor is split into two areas. The night on our arrival were multiple staffs crossing between the two sides of the restaurant through the lobby. Secondly, there’s zero noise cancellation from the Main Street events or your neighbor’s conversations; our alarm was incorrectly/accidentally set to midnight that a static noise of radio woke us up and was quite frightened, the interior design is dark and stained in the bathroom. Third day after the morning cleaning, the smell of chlorine in bedding was overwhelmed to sleep in. We were so close to packed up and moved to a different hotel for a decent sleep after a full-day activities. Overall, the staffs are very friendly and doesn’t seem like the hotel management wants to do any more to keep the status.

Getting out of the way that the hotel is in a great location, this hotel has no business being listed as a 4-star hotel. There is street noise, even on the top floors. Our bathroom was particularly disgusting, with a toilet that won’t stop running, a toilet seat that is worn out, scuffed, stained, and missing bolt caps, a grundgy drop ceiling, small roaches in the shower, and no washable bath mat upon arrival. We reported the running toilet on day 2 as it was draining as soon as it filled, wasting gallons and gallons of water, but nothing was done during our stay and we kept turning the water valve off and on to use the toilet. You’d think they could replace the valve and buy a new toilet seat for $12 with the money they would save on water. The overhead lights don’t work in the room. They put old unwashable throw pillows on the bed and don’t have fitted sheets. There is a 3 inch gap under the door letting a lot of light in at night. The doorman is more often in the way and talking with other employees than helping with the door. The WiFi is absolutely terrible to worthless and must be turned off to use your phone. 2-star at best. Update 10/13 In response to the reply to this review from the hotel I did reach out via the email address on their website and I have gotten no response. A ploy to make it seem like they care about the poor status of their hotel and customer service it seems. Changing to one star.

It's a nice hotel in a great location but service was poor. Called front desk twice to empty our garbage and they never did. Housekeeping didn't replace our towels and then our toilet clogged and they gave us a plunger that broke! Too expensive for that kind of service!

This hotel was great in terms of location. It's in a great spot and the square is lovely. The staff was mostly friendly. However, I can't recommend it as a better choice over the several other hotels nearby. There is no coffee in this hotel in the morning or nearby. There is not good coffee provided in the rooms and that is your only quick access to it. Also no breakfast is available; the restaurant and bar does not open until noon. You can order delivery for your coffee and/or breakfast through your own choice of a food delivery app but it is hit or miss on whether the front desk will let them drop it off at your room. If you want to pick some up yourself nearby, you will need to walk a few blocks to start your day with coffee. Just noting for others that require coffee to start their day :) The rooms are very dark (only had a few dim lamps for source of light, and not all of ours functioned either.) There were large windows in our suite that may help bring in more light during the day, but most of the curtains were stuck and near impossible to budge. There was only one remote for both TVs, so we had to share it. There were various old food crumbs found under many crevices, beneath sides of bed, etc. There is no "do not disturb" sign provided for the doors, the cleaner may just randomly come by whenever, no way to know. Made me nervous each morning to hop in the shower incase someone popped by. It is very loud at night with the street car nearby and random loud folks passing by in the nearby square. I live in a busy city so I am used to this kind of noise, but it may bother others who are not used to it. The wifi is also so slow it is unusable. Incase you may need to work some during your stay like I had to–go elsewhere for better wifi. Overall it was physically a beautiful hotel and I had high hopes when we originally planned our stay here. Unfortunately we were let down in many ways and cannot recommend it to others. There are just too many better options nearby.

Comfortable rooms. Hotel is located close enough to the French quarter to access it easily but far enough that you aren’t overwhelmed by the crowd and the noise.

We stayed here 3 nights, 4 days. It was nice to be away from the business of Bourbon. Everything is in walking distance both ways plus you can catch the street car right in the front. The staff was polite. The only things that we had an issue with was the tub that didn’t drain quickly and the wifi connection. The wifi was so bad lol but we just dealt with it since we we spent most of our time out. We didn’t say anything just because we didn’t want to have to move rooms. There’s no housekeeping unless you’re staying past 3 days. We asked for additional towels and they immediately brought them to our room. That was nice. The street car passes consistently all day starting early in the morning and goes late into the night and it’s pretty loud so be prepared. This is an old hotel but it was clean and the bed was comfortable.

This hotel is awesome if you are looking for a quiet place to stay when you are in NOLA I recommend staying here and the front desk staff are nice and the elevators are clean and so are the rooms

Staff was friendly. Paul at the front desk was so helpful and kind. Kevin the bellhop gave me a personalized map so I wouldn't get lost. Rates were amazing. Would 100% recommend this hotel.

I cannot remember the front desk person’s name. Either Paul or Ryan? He was very fabulous and really took care of me and my mom while we stayed. Thank you again to whoever that was. You really went out of your way to make us happy!

Nice people, but the rooms are dark and small, nothing like the web photos. Too dark to work in the room.

Our room was beautiful, clean and quiet. The service was very friendly and helpful. Great restaurants and entertainment are within walking distance.

Ficamos no último piso , as janelas não abriam o que é estranho … Boa localização, perto do centro histórico é longe da confusão mas em zona bem frequentada e bons restaurantes . Estranhei o facto de se quisermos que limpem / arrumem o quarto termos que o solicitar caso contrário as funcionárias não o limpam . Sem problema pedi para o arrumarem e limparem todos os dias da nossa estadias .

Great hotel. Nice room a bit on the smaller side but located in walking distance from a lot of things. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Only plus: nice central location. The rooms were uncleanly, our first room actually had someone's hair on the bed and a bug in the bathroom. The wifi seems to only be stable in the a.m.

Small rooms, decent for the price/

Great Room, Great Location The location is great; a 3 block walk to the World War 2 Museum, a 2 block walk to Canal Street. The room was excellent, very comfortable bed, a balcony, large bathroom, mini refrigerator. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a trolley stop right across the street. We look forward to staying in this hotel again on our next visit to New Orleans.

This is my third time staying at the Lafayette hotel and I am always extremely satisfied with the service, the front desk staff, the absolute beauty of the hotel and the location being just outside the French quarter, so you can pop in and pop out without all the crowds and noise. If it's available to book, please make the right choice and book the Lafayette.

Treated like VIP by Concierge Paul! From the moment of arrival, Paul, who was off the clock when I checked out, took great care of us. He checked us in early, accommodated our requests and helped make our stay nice. Kudos to him for his supreme customer service! The hotel is a boutique hotel. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but it's clean and quiet. It's a historic/old hotel that has been well maintained and renovated.

The hotel is located away from the busiest parts of NOLA so you’ll get lots of peace and quiet. It is still very walkable and conveniently located. The hotel is kept up nicely but with small signs of aging. Rooms were clean. Service is currently bare bones given the job market situation but all staff we interacted with were kind and attentive. Overall a great experience for the price. I would definitely recommend.

I highly recommend this hotel. As an older building the hotel has charm and character that modern sleek places don't. The bedroom furniture has marble tops of an ornate style and the tall headboards are beautiful. The location on the Square and the trolley out the front door make it a perfect location. The staff was excellent, attentive, friendly, and knew me by the second day. Paul at the Front Desk and Kevin as concierge especially stood out with their helpfulness and friendliness. Anything we needed was taken care of. They made us feel very much at home. It was a wonderful place to stay.

Just ok. Picked this hotel for our honeymoon and we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room as it was quite spacious. However the bathroom was quite quaint and a bit of a letdown. There is very little lighting in the hotel room making it hard to look into their many mirrors, and when we called for silverware we waited an hour only to be told no silverware was available. We tried our luck the next day as we still had leftovers to eat and we’re told we could walk to the nearest grocery store to get some for free, which struck me as odd seeing as there is a steakhouse connected to the hotel. And Wi-Fi is TERRIBLE. When we could connect to it we could do so only on one side of the room. Also, found a weird stain in the sheets the last night which was unsettling. The location is lovely but we would stay elsewhere when visiting NOLA.

I'm supposed to make the changes through booking.com but their giving me the run around. Not helping at all. Megan at the front desk, like a BOSS, bushes a few buttons and saves my weekend.

Paul-concierge extraordinaire Having gone to New Orleans on the spur of the moment, I had not arranged hotel bookings. I was popping into hotels left and right on St. Charles Avenue. When entering Lafayette Hotel I was immediately welcomed by the concierge, Paul. I explained my predicament...(I can fly free but flying standby precludes any firm hotel reservations). Paul immediately seized the opportunity to call his associate hotels to see if they had rooms available. His charming and warm demeanor will get him far in this world of "to each his own". Thank you Paul, for your help, and next time I come to Nola, I am booking a reservation at the Lafayette.
