Nightmarish! Likes: The location was excellent if you want to be in the middle of bars, right in the action. Dislikes: The place was not clean to my standards, there was a big stain on the sofa and a stain on my bed comforter, there were chips on the ground, The walls were dirty, and it smelled musky. There was no trash bag. It's virtual check-in but the front door would not work so I got locked out in the rain and could not get anyone to answer my calls. The bed was hard and hurt my back, the lighting was dull. This was depressing.

I’ve lived in a major city and have been to Gaslamp before, so I knew what to expect. The unit was super small and yes, is on top of a busy restaurant. But it was clean, nice, and pretty quiet (I got lucky and wasn’t over the street). The location is great if you want to party in Gaslamp or don’t mind noise. My only problem was when there was an issue with accessing the property due to a technical malfunction with the lock. The customer service channels Kasa advertises aren’t great. Text messages weren't answered and it took a really long time to get a person on the phone. The rep was nice and tried hard to help me, but she ultimately couldn’t get a hold of anyone to meet us onsite to help. Thankfully my party found a workaround, but it wasn’t thanks to Kasa. This is worth the price if you manage your expectations and have the flexibility to navigate issues like the door thing without an army of hotel employees available.

Oof Above a nightclub. Hallway and common areas smelled like urine and trash. Sheets felt unclean. I left at 2AM for another hotel. No partial refund offered. Definitely not recommended.

If you like to go and party it's a great place but don't expect to get a good night's sleep. I should have known as soon as I saw earplugs and a sound machine placed next to the bed. Earplugs did not help as the whole room was shaking from the outside loud music. Could also use a good deep cleaning.

I found this place to be perfect for my early Valentine’s Day plans. There was a loading zone in front of the building that we took advantage of to unload and head up into our unit. There was no one to check in with just the Airbnb instructions and they were great. The building also serves a restaurant so the elevator is a fun ride to listen to. Our room unfortunately had a burn mark from what appeared to be from an iron and the bed side lamps were slanted. Upon further inspection it was from the nightstand that was attached to the bed frame being broken. In the middle of the night the lamps were sliding forward and almost fell but I caught one and proactively moved the other lamp to the floor. The kitchenette and fridge were a life saver. The window to the street was great and while they provided ear plugs I found the music and nightlife to be comforting. The bathroom was clean and great. The parking is awful and expensive but it is what it is. Replace the bed frame and it’ll be 5/5.

Unbelievably amazing! Amazing value for such a great place. Definitely coming back!

Loved how comfy the bed was a long with the linen. Very clean room. Really couldn't hear the bars down below, but across the alley on the roof next door, there was a AC fan rattling all night. Other than that my wife and I would definitely come back to this place.

Great stay in Gaslamp during Superbowl Everything was great. Was worried it might be noisy because of location in the Gaslamp and it being Super Bowl, but everything was quiet and they even supplied earplugs just in case. Check in/check out was simple and no issues. Great value, clean and updated room with a nice little kitchen. Will definitely stay again.

I've stayed here twice now and plan to stay many more times in the future. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated, affordable, and right in the heart of downtown San Diego. A++++

The location is at the center of Gaslamp which is very convenient. There were unresolved difficulties with the wifi and the tv was not a smart tv and casting was impossible. The shower had hair (someone else's) and the restroom overall has rusty fixtures. The parking was common sense but the street closures made it difficult to unload and load. This "Kasa" feels like an upgrade to a hostel. We did appreciate the quality tea and coffee.

Overall it was a good experience. There was no body wash in the shower and the showerhead was very old and did not provide good pressure. The bedding was very comfortable but there was a small stain on the sheets.

The room was spacious and well-equipped. It was clean, although there was no room cleaning performed during my stay - I would have liked some fresh towels, at least. The property is very well located, walking distance from many food and drink options as well as many grocery stores. The main issue is the noise coming from the street and from the restaurant and bar downstairs - you can literally make out conversations. When the music starts playing, both live and recorded, sleeping becomes nearly impossible. I always travel with earplugs, but even they couldn't keep out the thumping bass. Needless to say, sleeping was difficult and fitful. The noise may be limited to the second floor room facing Fifth Street, since it's right above the restaurant and bar, so it's best to verify which room you'll be getting.

Good location, convenient access to Little Italy and other parts of town. Parking was great, really a huge perk in downtown. It was quiet on our floor.

The Airbnb was super centrally located, making it very convenient to explore San Diego. The cleanliness of the accommodation was very good, and communication with Kasa was smooth and straightforward. Unfortunately, the rooms were quite noisy, and you could hear the lively nightlife of the Gaslamp Quarter until 2-3 AM. Overall, the stay was very enjoyable, and the accommodation met all expectations. However, relaxation is not something you’ll find in the Gaslamp Quarter due to the vibrant atmosphere. Of course, this depends on what travelers are looking for!

Everything was perfect to be honest. The cleanliness was amazing and instructions were clear and understandable. Only little comment is that the wifi was bad but other than that it is very good. Location was amazing also :)

I don’t know what to make of my stay at Kasa. Our comforters had blood stains on it and Kasa didn’t do anything to accommodate that other than telling us it wasn’t okay. The location was great as you’re right on the main strip of gaslamp but yeah the dried up blood stains were extremely nasty and I’m not sure if I’d stay here again unfortunately.

We loved our stay here. Can’t beat the location. Everything was smooth and easy. We even got an upgraded room for no extra charge which was a pleasant surprise. Would definitely recommend to friends and stay here again.

First time in a place like this! Once you stay you’ll understand. At first you walk in an alley way that feels illegal between el Chingon nightclub/restaurant and another eatery! They text you the code and you walk through a hallway with food workers and go either up some stairs or elevator and go to your room! We got the queen with own room for some extra room — it was nice and spacious (still felt crowded and dim for some reason). You can tell these were apartments at some time. The other reviews that say the hotel was “extremely loud:” A) you’re staying in downtown Gaslamp on 5th avenue, why else are you there is not for the fun and vibrant nightlife? B) we truly TRIED to listen for any noise when we finally went to sleep around midnight and couldn’t hear a sound. All in all, we had a good experience (just different from other stays such as the hard rock down the street). The property was able to accommodate our request for early check in which was great, they communicated to you the access code to get into the building and your room. And it was RIGHT in the center of gaslamp—what more could you ask for! The biggest downside was parking — no parking on property or valet so plan your parking prior to getting down there (or get quoted an outrageous amount of 180$ for Athene LAZ parking down the street). On a Saturday night we paid 21$ (2pm-next day at 1:30pm) for ACE parking “park it on market” which was about a 5 minute walk. Garage/gated/security. WELL worth it.

Will definitely be booking again when visiting San Diego. Everything is as advertised with the rooms. Great location!

Cute Spot in the Heart of Gaslamp Loved it! Felt like staying in a cute little east coast apartment. Amazing room for a young couple, & literally couldn't be in a better location. We booked 1 night, but then chose to stay 2 more. Room was surprisingly quiet. Biggest drawback was no parking (Luckily a big parking structure a block east is $20 for 24 hours) Room was small but cute, & had a big bed, a nice TV, & a private clean bathroom. Very solid kitchenette too, could really cook there if you wanted to, plus it already had a clean assortment of pots, pans, cooking & eating utensils, etc. included).

This place is going to be my next go to spot in downtown San Diego. Location was great, price was great, the room was clean and nicely decorated, and they were able to accommodate an early check-in so I didn't have to carry my bags all around downtown San Diego. A+++

Parking voucher would be amazing to have

Straightforward, no nonsense stay right in the heart of San Diego Likes: Location right in the gaslamp quarter, convenient to the convention centre and anywhere in San Diego downtown. Ear plugs were provided to shut out the party outside. Dislikes: A little loud from the pubs below, so reluctant to open the windows.

The location of this Airbnb was prefect if you plan on exploring the gaslamp district. It is located between a restaurant and a bar so it can be a little noisy but they provided earplugs. Everything was clean and provided a lot of dishes and cups. My only complaint was the trash smell in the hallway/lobby and in the room. We found parking about a block down that charges a flat rate and then $1 every hour after 3am. Overall, the room itself was nice and exactly like the pictures.

If you’re sensitive to smells It smelt like chemicals the moment you walk in; the unit was cozy but smelt very bad :( we checked out by 10pm the same day.

Pre check in was a horrific experience.

It was really lovely i do wish there was more options of pots lol im a chef i like cooking i definitely made it work though!! Other than that it was good wasnt too loud and everything was clean and set up very nice.

Lovely spot in a super convention place! Very easy to walk around & get food and drinks, and attend events at Petco! It was super noisy from 10pm onwards until around 3am, which made it difficult to sleep. Highly recommend bringing melatonin! Earplugs were provided. Would stay again-just would try not to on a weekend or after a huge event. Beautiful spot, great amenities. Very quick responses times, and was able to help us check in early!

Great place to stay in the heart of downtown. Very walkable and accessible. Lots of places to choose from to dine and drink there.

Central location within the Gaslamp District in San Diego with lots of dining and nightlife activities within walking distance. Unit was spotless and our host was very friendly and responsive. Accessing the unit was easy and it was just what we were looking for!
