Overall, I had a solid stay in a fantastic Gaslamp location. The booking process was easy, and the photos were accurate to what I found upon arrival.
The arrival instructions could definitely be clearer. There is nothing on the outside of the building that says KASA. The building is marked Marin Hotel 1888, as it is a historic property. Knowing that ahead of time would have made finding the entrance much easier.
The location is probably the biggest selling point. It’s right in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, with plenty of restaurants, bars, and entertainment within easy walking distance.
My room was a decent size, and the A/C, Wi-Fi, water temperature, and amenities were all good. The towels were average, and the bed was okay—not bad, but not great either.
Keep in mind this is an older historic building, and parts of it definitely show their age and could use a deeper cleaning. I also noticed a few small bugs during my stay. Nothing major, but worth mentioning given the age of the property.
Overall, I enjoyed the great location, easy booking process, and convenience. With clearer arrival instructions and a little more attention to cleanliness, it would be an even better experience.
