Maybe we had bad luck, but everything in our room was constantly breaking. Drains clogged, bathroom flooded, fridge froze everything, and we didn’t have reliable hot water for the last 2 weeks of our stay. I kind of lost it when I saw the machines in the laundry room only took quarters but the coin machine was broken. SF is expensive, but I expected more for what I paid. Kitchen is always gross, with no forks or spoons, because it is a shared space and people don’t clean up after themselves. People cooking regularly set off the fire alarm for the entire building, and Kasa sends these automated threatening emails telling you to keep the noise down or you’ll be kicked out. This is especially annoying when you’re sitting up in bed in the early hours of the morning waiting for someone to turn off the alarm you didn’t trigger. The whole contactless aspect of the stay gets old quickly when you have as many regular maintenance issues as we did.
