We were in San Francisco for 5 days and definitely enjoyed our stay at La Monarca. Especially the combination of a quiet retreat and perfect connection to the city center convinced us of this AirBnB, hence our 5 out of 5 star rating.
About the location: If you're not a big city kid, the poverty and drug problems in the surrounding area can certainly worry you, but it's definitely nothing you won't see in any other big city. The advantages of the central location are the very good public transportation connections, the large selection of restaurants, the short distances to the major sights and the authentic cityscape of San Francisco.
The AirBnB itself is very clean and offers everything you need for a short to medium stay. Even the communal kitchen was in very good and clean condition.
We personally recommend asking at the time of booking whether a room facing the back is available, so you can avoid the noise of the city at night.
