I found my go-to Pittsburgh hotel! Likes: The rooms are fantastic! I liked that the price was reasonable and hope that it stays that way. The building has so much character. Dislikes: The fully automated entry was confusing at first. I had to help several people figure it out during my stay. I also don't like that if you are not phone literate or if you don't have a cell phone then you are virtually unable to stay there. I hope that there are plans to open the fantastic lounge for food and drinks. No need for breakfast included bc that would raise the room rate.

It was nicely furnished in a good location and the daytime staff person was extremely nice! Likes: It was near my daughter. The room was very nice. Dislikes: I did not understand directions for the tv

The Kasa hotel in Pittsburgh is very nice. It was a YMCA that was converted into a hotel. The original gym is still used for parties. The room was clean and modern. The woman at the front is so nice. I can’t wait to come back to see her again! The only thing I would say is for a ADA room with the bed so low to the floor. I had a lot of difficulties getting in and out of the bed. The shower head does come off. However, being my right arm doesn’t work well. The shower head was very heavy for me. Otherwise, it is a nice hotel. We parked in the back lot. Parking is very cheap and free on Sunday.

DO NOT BOOK HERE! This hotel was dirty. Hair in sinks, fuzz on surfaces - but the worst part is that the toilet was broken and when we tried to address it, there was no human to help. I reached out several times to their mobile bot, and kept getting automated responses. When I called to speak to a person, I had to wait over 30 minutes to get a new room. They wouldn't give me the new entry code via phone, so I waited another 10 mins to get one on text. When I did, it was the same code as the previous one and did not open the new room. Again, I had to wait for a bot, then on hold with a human in California. It took over an hour to get into a room. It smelled like smoke. Sheets were like sandpaper and my son had horrible allergies all night. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would!

I thought it was a little expensive compared to apartments that cost about the same.

Dislikes: The water is too cold for shower.

Probably one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at, no onsite staff when you have a problem, air conditioning barely worked, toiled clogged from peeing, called the number the lady said she will put in a work order but doesn’t know when they will come to fix it! Told her I wanted another room and she said she might check for availability. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Showed city views on the website, looking at a wall.

Could really use some renovations. The exterior architecture is top notch but inside is weirdly left out.

Lovely well appointed hotel ! There were however homeless people sleeping outside the hotel. Made me feel guilty.

On the whole, the room was comfortable and quite. Likes: It was quite. Stayed 7 days, only saw other guests may be three times. Within walking distance to Whole Food Market and cafe's Dislikes: Did not see any hotel staff. Tried to follow the checked-out instruction, Could not locate the bins for linen and garbage anywhere.

I have never stayed in any hotels by KASA but from now, I am a fan of this hotel chain, for sure.

No physical check in at front desk. Requires a facial scan to check in. This is not made clear at booking time, which only states a photo ID is required.

Room was very clean and unique, check in instructions super clear and easy, stay was amazing. I love staying in reclaimed buildings and they did a fantastic job here.

This isn’t a traditional hotel—no 24/7 receptionists (although someone was there during the day), no key cards, no random perks like free breakfast. But I liked it. My room was really nice, and everything was clean. The neighborhood is more interesting/fun than downtown and it’s pretty well connected by public transit. Checking in and getting access to the room and building took a little while to get the hang of—this might not be the best option if you’re not tech savvy.

Our stay was easy and relaxing! Likes: Loved the quiet of the location and the hotel. Amenities were top notch h in the room. Dislikes: There really was nothing that we didn’t like.

Great place for quiet stay! This place is so great! Cute furnishings and quality amenities made it. There’s no skimping on anything. So very quiet and relaxing. No fuss check in and check out. Love this place and would stay again in a second!

Wonderful stay! Wish we would have been at the house longer! We booked it because we had an event to go to so didn’t spend much time there reslly only to sleep, but we will be back! Lovely location and looks like lots to do! 10/10!

Private, peaceful, and comfortable hotel within walking distance to area restaurants and shopping. On-site representative "C" provided excellent customer service.

Clean. Comfortable. But no hot water. Ended up having to shower in almost cold water. I was told this was because so many other units were trying to use hot water at the same time. Not an acceptable excuse after paying $200 per night.

Overall great value and great location. My only complaint is the building was on the older side and the heat and water weren’t great. My sink initially worked well, but after a few hours only a few drops would come out of the faucet. I contacted management and they said they’d send someone but didn’t. Otherwise a good stay.

Convenient and clean

Excellent place to stay in Pittsburgh Really beautiful, clean space. Bed was not super comfortable, but otherwise, the space was very comfortable. Great location, very walkable.

Second time staying here, reliable and affordable spot! Likes: Lovely decor, comfortable, seamless check-in Dislikes: Our fridge wasn't working, but we were able to keep our leftovers cold with some ice from the ice machine. I wish more water were provided, or a filter somewhere in the lobby to fill water bottles. Pittsburgh tap is no bueno.

They have some work to do, but pretty room and good location. Likes: The room is cute and reminds me of staying in the ACE hotels that I enjoy because they incorporate interesting properties. The bed was comfortable. Liked the free snacks! Dislikes: The room was cold, the coffee maker did not work, and one day there was only COLD water in the shower. There is no TV, just a monitor to connect to your computer. My computer cord was lost so I had no way to use it. There was nobody around to ask anything to... would have loved a shower, a coffee and news on tv before I set out in the morning.

I’m pretty big on reviews. I’m a little bit torn here because Kasa is a lovely location. I believe the rigidity in their rules is what sets them apart. The rooms are clean and everyone is expected to respect their property. I’m not sure how often this happens, but I wanted to share my story. I’m very by the book. I have spent my entire life coloring inside the lines. It’s just my personality. lol. I had an awesome stay with my husband. We got in late and left around 10. The room is beautiful and tidy. I did my usual stripping the bed and emptying the trash and went about my business. The shower didn’t get hot, but things happen. I can assure you that is probably not how it usually is. I still give them 5 stars. This is the part that is honestly confusing to me. We attended a cookout before we headed to the air bnb. There was some smoking there. I personally don’t smoke but my husband does. So anyways, I got an email saying that I will never be able to stay here because we were allegedly smoking in the room. I attached the email I received. I asked where this came from and he said the room smelled like smoke and it was reviewed by the highest level and remain final. I saw someone else got the same sort of communication when accused of breaking a table. I understand with a unit that has multiple rooms you kind of just have to be decisive. However, I’m 31 years old. I have two kids. I know it’s not an automatic to be mature enough to not disrespect someone’s property with those characteristics. But I have home training, and I would NEVER smoke in someone’s space (because I don’t smoke) but I also wouldn’t allow my husband to either… because why is that even necessary? Maybe this review is more cathartic than helpful, because I really don’t get in trouble often lol. Theyre running a business here, and they can work incredibly hard to make you feel welcomed… but at the end of the day.. they don’t know you. And you truly cannot advocate for yourself once an accusation comes against you. So if you are a smoker or have a friend who is a smoker. Maybe don’t stay here. They were still very friendly and respectful. I do recommend them still, but it’s unfortunate that my trip ended that way.

Absolutely loved the experience at the Maverick. Room was very relaxing, the provided couch and bluetooth speaker made for a very chill environment. Hotel was incredibly quiet, didn't really see or hear any other guests during our stay. Beautiful building and great views.

Clean, quiet, minimalist in a good way

We ended up staying here because we decided to stay in PA for an extra day. It was a very easy check in, and the room is beautiful. We got in a bit late from a cookout, went straight to sleep… and left around 10 am. I was with my husband the entire time except when he packed the car. I got an email saying that we will no longer be allowed to stay because one of us was smoking on the property. No one smoked. There was smoking at the cookout though so idk if that lingered in our clothes? Anyways, all of this to say. Kasa is an awesome place to stay. They take their rules very seriously (as I do too). So be very careful, because a single accusation is an automatic ban.
