This is my second time staying with KASA and it was great both times. Clean and cozy. So many places in walking distance. Very nice and convenient.

It was amazing!! Everything was clean and it was a safe space, the area is nice and a lot around! Parking can be difficult but after that everything was a breeze!

We had a fantastic stay at the Maverick! Check in was flawless, they have a great digital front desk that explains every detail. Because our stay was over a weekend, we managed to get free street parking right out front which was very convenient ( keep in mind you'd have to pay during the week). The room was huge, clean and comfortable! It had more than we had expected and we wished we could have stayed longer.

Great location, spacious room, comfortable bedding. Coffee-maker staffed with plenty K-cups. We enjoyed our staying and will use it again when in Pittsburgh. Hints for improvement: larger coffee mugs, more silverware and a couple of plates will help.

The room was cozy and cute. The room and the whole facility were very clean. The directions were clear and easy to follow, we didn’t have a problem accessing our room. The only thing is that we had to stream our Netflix account to the TV as they did not offer cable or some type of service provider, however that is just my personal preference. Other than that our whole stay was perfect. I would definitely stay here again.

My stay was very comfortable and I enjoyed it. Likes: The property was very clean, very easy to access. We had no problems at all. Dislikes: Probably just the fact that we couldn’t watch regular TV.

Everything is simple and straightforward. The room was stylish and East Liberty is a great location - major stores and restaurants at a walking distance. For those staying longer, you won't get any room service throughout your stay, so no new towels or sheets. Just as in an AirBnB, not as in a hotel.

Very convenient for those who do not ever really utilize guest customer service when staying in hotels. The virtual assistant responded instantly when we needed it though, so I think if there is an issue there is someone to help. It was nice to just go right to the room without having to chat with anyone and the hotel bar looked nice. The room was clean and cutely decorated. The only thing is I hate barn doors on bathrooms, there is a huge gap in the door no matter what, so if you've got to go #2, whoever else is in the room will be very aware that you are. Also, the bed was not comfortable, it felt like sleeping on a plank, and the pillows were basically air. The blackout curtains did come in handy since the windows are huge.

This place is so cool! Great area to walk around and shop/eat. Room was cozy and clean. Host is proactive and helpful. Couldn’t ask for better Airbnb experience.

Will definitely be back! Really awesome little spot. The rooms were neat and retro and the real highlight was the neighborhood. Cool bar downstairs with helpful and fun staff. This was an impromptu stay but we will definitely be coming back!

Good place to stay

The Maverick is a really nice place to stay. I was there for one month and enjoyed my stay.

No face to face contact with anyone. Sparce furnishings in room, two cheap plastic chairs and a small round table. The bed basically sits at almost floor level and is much too soft. The bed pillows are HUGE but also much to soft, offering no support. At least there is a good coffee maker.

I really enjoyed the bar staff. Very friendly and accommidating. They even ordered food for me and went to pick it up. I'll definitely book a room there again!

I stayed here for a few days, and I thought it was veryyyy nice and absolutely LOVED the amenities, although I think they should also have to-go cups for the coffee machine instead of just mugs. I would have loved to take my coffee on the go with me in the mornings when I left, but that’s just a suggestion, wasn’t really an issue for me. The beds were SUPER low to the ground which again wasn’t an issue for me particularly as I’m a younger adult BUT it may be an issue for older adults or anyone with knee issues, so be mindful of that when booking. The shower was great, bathroom in general was great imo. Love the amount of towels you get, most places literally give 2 towels and one washcloth. They have a nice lobby if you need a place to wait for check in or if you’re departing later. Definitely would stay here again!

Really convenient check-in and very cool room. Parking, check-in/check-out and other instructions were all very detailed and clear. 10/10 recommend! (Super close to Carnegie Mellon University)

A memorable place to stay Very comfortable. Had a little issue and Kasa was very gracious in addressing it for us. I appreciate the thoughtfulness of this lodging, the aesthetic and vibe. Room was clean and comfortable. He will need to use meter or other parking, which could be a factor on some stays. The beds here are low to the floor, which might be an issue for some older patrons.

Quirky Hotel Near the Action This was a quirky hotel that occupies a former YMCA. It is located across the street from a beautiful cathedral and is near robust areas of shopping/dining. There is no front desk or on-site guest services. Instead, you coordinate checking in/out, etc. via text. Response times were fine. The room was narrow but comfortable. The bed was low to the floor, and one side was tight to the adjoining wall. The lower floors are used for community events. During our stay, the lobby bar was closed. There is no on-site parking, but there are options within 1/2 mile. The TV is not connected to cable/satellite but does support streaming. The in-room WiFi was good.

We picked this property due to past reviews and they were spot on. It was a little smaller than pictures showed but it was plenty of space for just two people. We were not in the room very long except to sleep. The location was great as far as being able to walk to places to eat or if you need to shop. A Target and Walgreens were in walking distance. We did not rent a car so Ubered everywhere. I'm not sure I would do that again as it became very pricey but we had never been to Pittsburgh and were unsure of parking. We went to an NFL Football game and the uber ride was over $60 there and $80 coming home alone. But it still was convenient being dropped off where you were going. Pittsburgh is a beautiful city and we had a great time! next time we will stay longer and rent a car so we can see more!

The concept of a remotely managed hotel with no local staff seems to work, until something goes wrong in the building and they start sending threatening messages to all guests at the same time. There was a fire alarm during our stay due to construction works on one of the floors and we got noise sensor warnings with the threat of terminating our stay ad $500 fines...

Was a quite and enjoyable stay

First time Kasa'ers and we two were very pleased. The unit has the funky, hispter-loft design and layout we hoped for PLUS good amount of clothes storage and hanging space. Wife loved the clawfoot tub and used it every day. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom and shower were wide and had great water pressure. We loved the view of the church from our room. The 4th floor unit was quiet and comfortable for our 4-nite stay. The polished concrete floors were nice though I suspect they might be cold in winter. ONLY 4-STAR COMMENT: we (old folks) aren't the most tech-savvy so the whole digital communications thing was a learning experience for us (kudos and slight criticism for the sheer volume of digital communications from Kasa pre-, during- and post-stay). For instance, the TV isn't a "TV", but an large scren-extension of the apps on our mobile phones. That whole swipe-to-project Star Trek stuff made me give-up trying to watch the Steelers game on the TV. But that's just us. 5-Star review is still my feelings and will make me seek out other Kasa-type projects in our travels to other cities.

I picked this room because of other reviews and they did not disappoint. The room was super clean and cozy. I did think it was larger and more window light but honestly, we weren't in the room much so not a big deal. We were able to walk to restaurants, stores, coffee shops etc easily. We felt very safe and loved the beautiful church across the street. The only negative was there was a party in the foyer when we got there and was told it was a private party and we could not use the bar so the two free drink chips were of no value. But again, not an issue as we got what we needed at other establishments. It was a little pricy to Uber to the football game so keep that in mind. I would reserve your rides ahead to keep the cost down!

It is a little weird staying in an unstaffed hotel - but is essentially a nice AirBNB…. Rooms are large and great windows; building is funky and historic. Location is outstanding for staying OUT of downtown. Lots of on-street parking, funky bars & restaurants, Whole Foods right nearby. Check in etc was easy and well communicated. Dunno what would have happened if I needed an extra blanket 🙂.. they do say they have 24hr service but I never needed/tried it. All that said - highly suggest this place

Sure... it is a "boutique hotel" EXCEPT for when it is an EDM party house between 8PM and 2AM on certain nights. Read other 1-star reviews before booking.

First time staying at a property with a virtual check in. It went better then I expected and the response to text was prompt. Loved this hotel,the room was specious and felt like a studio apartment. Close to the downtown area and pitt campus which is where all our events were. Already started telling all our friends about this place. 💛💛💛💛💛

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The rating they truly deserve.. absolutely awful.. do not stay here

Just terrible.. awful.. nothing like the pictures.. nobody even works here.. never staying again

I only wish I could give this place 0 stars.. the absolute worst stay I’ve ever had at any hotel in my life.. they over charged me for a deluxe room and put me in a budget room (with my infant son) terrible service.. called them and they put me on hold for 20 mins then answered and told me they would call me back in 15 and never called back.. room is smells bad, is cramped, nobody works here at all.. no manger, no concierge, no cleaners, not even a bar tender at the bar that claims to be open .. just nothing.. miserable experience.. I stayed here when it was the Ace Hotel and it was great so I decided to stay here again on my travels.. this place is just riding on the food name of the last hotel.. this is NOT a 4 star hotel by any means.. it is a flea bag motel at best..

DO NOT STAY HERE: it’s the ghost of the Ace Hotel which used to be here, my wife stayed here 4 years ago and it was a great experience.. so she chose this place for us on our trip. It has been taken over by some half baked automated service company. Nobody even works in this hotel, no one to greet you, no manager, no staff, no cleaner, no concierge.. just nothing. The pictures that come up online are not at all reflective of the rooms. Also, if you search “ace hotel Pittsburg” the price is $209 but if you search “the maverick by kasa” the price is $89.. this is a total scam based on the reputation of the previous hotel that was here. To add insult to injury, there is also no bar tender at the downstairs bar even though it says on the sign out front and on google maps that the bar is open today (Thursday) so the complimentary drinks they leave for you in the room aren’t even redeemable ! What an absolute joke. Lastly, we called to report the fact that we were booked into a budget room when we clearly payed for a luxury room with a bathtub (we have a newborn baby) and they put us on hold for 20+ mins telling us they would find us a room with a tub and came back with no results. They told us they would call us back within 15 mins.. it’s now 4 hours later with no call back. I wrote this as I’m about to try to sleep.. Also, the heater makes loud obnoxious noises, which is why I say “try to sleep”. This place is an absolute sham. Do not stay here for even $89.. it isn’t worth it. This place deserves to go out of business FAST.

This place was so cute. I only stayed for a night but the location is beautiful, and the room was nice and clean. I literally didn't see a single person there the entire time, it was great. They have little amenities that I really appreciated, like single makeup remover wipes ( that I really needed ). 10/10 will stay there again, between the price and location, it's perfect

Overall, great experience. Hotel is immaculate. Room was nice. Cute lounge/bar at night. Only wish they had a gym. Otherwise location is nice. Communication available 24/7 via text which was convenient. Enjoyed not having the hassle of traditional check-out/check-in.

We absolutely loved our stay at Kasa. I was delighted by the room itself; it feels European in its focus on form and simple comfort, and the views of the cathedral across the street were beautiful. Working with the contactless check in was a breeze, even for us Gen Xers, and I appreciated the way that texts with links to everything we needed were sent regularly. We’ll be back!

I love the virtual check-in process We were visiting Pittsburgh and decided to stay at this hotel, close to the University of Pittsburgh. I loved the location and the virtual check in. The virtual staff was very responsive to our needs and made sure we had everything we needed for the weekend. I love the refurbishing of the space and can tell that more work is on the way; this place will have a nice vibe about it. My only concern was the quality of the bed, I found it hard and difficult to sleep on. Outside of that, I do believe they can easily modify that. Certainly would be willing to stay here again.
