In my experience this hotel is not worth its price tag. Lack of basic amenities (like a microwave or real mini fridge in the room), and low-quality amenities that were included (lights that don't stay on, terrible toilet paper, TV that barely worked, small and scratchy towels, etc.) definitely contributed to this. The rooms felt more like dormitories than hotel rooms in terms of decor and setup - but maybe it just isn't my style. Additionally, the cocktails were overpriced, the food was mediocre at best, and the kitchen was closed the whole week I was there so the menu was also very limited. There is only one place to fill a water bottle and it's in the gym (but at least it was always open). When I asked at the cafe to have them refill my water bottle the person at the counter shamed me for not ordering coffee too. Also, while I was there something happened in the room next to mine and it flooded out into the hallway. I'm not sure what the story is, but it just contributed to the janky vibe of the place.
The rooftop is open to the public and the pool is tiny so I did not feel comfortable using it. There were also private parties while I was there and the rooftop was packed, noisy, and was playing obnoxious music that I could hear from the hallway on the 10th floor.
The location also isn't great. I hadn't thought twice about it until everyone there told me I shouldn't go walking in the neighborhood at night by myself. It is the first time I've stayed in LA so I didn't know how different the vibe was until I visited other parts of the city.
The redeeming quality was the staff. Everyone at the front desk and who I met in passing in the hallways was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. They were helpful when I had questions and made check-in and out very easy and smooth. I worked with two staff in particular - Cameron I believe, and a young woman with long braids who was wearing a white blazer (I can't remember her name).
