I was so disappointed in this hotel. I believe it is supposed to have this rustic feel to it, but they missed the mark. It felt like I was staying in dark, damp cave. The exposed concrete in the room made me feel like I was staying in a parking garage. The lights in the room are very dim, so the room was very dark and gloomy. The room we had was a medium king room, and it was tiny. There is basically only enough room for the bed, and a table behind the head of the bed. There was only 1 chair in the room to sit on, and the bed is so low it was like sleeping on the floor. Because there was only 1 chair in the room, it made eating in the room very difficult for us. One person would either have to wait to sit down and eat, or basically sit all the way down on the floor. The floor is half hard concrete, and half dirty carpet. The carpet was a dirty yellow color. It does not appear to have been cleaned at all. I had to wear shoes inside the room at all times due to the appearance of the floor. I stayed for 5 nights, and even after requesting, my room was never serviced. I asked if we could get clean linens for the bed and have the bathroom cleaned and replenished. They said they could bring linens to the room, but we would have to put the clean sheets and blankets on the bed ourselves. Nothing in the bathroom was ever refilled or cleaned either. I had to walk downstairs to the front desk to get toilet paper for our bathroom. The only reason we stayed so long at this hotel was because we prepaid for the room through a booking site, and the hotel said if we left we would not get our money back. I could not wait for the 5 days to be over so that I could leave.

I’ve never stayed in a hotel that was like a hostel. Thank goodness I was tired. The lack of creature comforts dismayed me. This seemed more like boot camp. This way beyond recycling. Many items in the room looked as if they were fished out of the trash. Thé bed was comfy but I hadn’t slept in days… I came here to escape ‘moving hell’ ,,,, I still have another night to stay away and I’ll switch hotels. Even paying for the nite here and not using it, is worth it to move to civilization. Room service? Nope…random menu that needs to be scanned in ur fone to order. NAY NAY THRICE NAY … too depressing. Oh and an old guitar on the wall? WHY? This was the wrong choice for me

It was cool to stay in a historic hotel and the rooms were pretty interesting, and the bed was comfy. The customer service, however, was horrible. My coworker and I stayed for one night and had requested an early check-in. I ended up waiting four and a half hours for my room to be "cleaned," which is just absurd, while my coworker was given a room right away. Because this was a business trip and the room had been reserved on a company card, I politely asked to speak with the manager to get clarification because I ended up having to charge the room on my personal card. The front desk staff member rudely said "My COWORKER is right here." So I didn't even get to speak with the person in charge, and both of them ended up being really unnecessarily rude. The rest of the day (while I waited almost 5 hours for my room to be "ready"), whenever we passed the concierge, they glared at us. I called the front desk after two hours of waiting for my room to be ready, and was treated like a Karen when I politely asked for an update on the room. Two more hours passed, and I went down to the front desk to again ask about the room. I was met with a glare and complete rudeness from the staff member yet again. Even when we checked out, they were pretty abrupt and rude. It seems like they staff this place with people who hate people, unfortunately.

This place has gorgeous views of the downtown skyline especially when you stay in the upper floors the rooms towards the back have huge windows that give you a breathtaking view of the downtown skyline. The hallways and elevators are always nice and clean and the front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, parking is a struggle here but there are plenty of paid parking options or if your arriving by Uber or shuttle then that won't be a problem at all. There are many shops and theaters near by with plenty of restaurants and bar and grills to enjoy a delicious meal and refreshing drink definetely worth a stay at this historic part of downtown L.A.

Reason i gave 1 star even though i rated it higher is after a few days once you check out they take a $70US facilities fee (they never mention anything bout it at check in/out) from your account, as we never used the pool or gym during our 2 day stay we have emailed to get it refunded but they never respond. I dont recommend this hotel unless your paying cash.

Although the room was beautifully appointed, the record player did not work, the air conditioning could not keep the room cool. After many requests I was told there would only be a room on the third floor. After two or three request to get the air conditioner fixed the front desk just stopped answering my calls. Even if you keep all the drape shot to not let sunlight in that would warm up the room. We couldn’t get it below 75°.I paid top dollar for a Very poor experience with the help, and the engineering in the room. Upstairs, very very expensive chips out of a bag and marginal food. I wish they would rely more customer comforts and good service than just being a cool sceneHotel. The entire experience would guarantee that I would never go back. When I was trying to leave, I did call the Ritz Carlton and could’ve gotten the king-size room with the view for two or $300 less than I was paying here.

Had 1 Orange juice from fridge in room & they took over $100 AUD from my bank. Emailed for an explanation but no answer. Absolute thieves would never stay in any Ace hotel again

Don't trust the valet! Went to a show there on Sunday, June 26th 2022. The valet took forever to return my car and the gas tank was low at 56 percent when I had turned it in at 90 percent. They moved my belongings around in my car. Unfortunately I didn't pay attention to make a complaint immediately.

STAY AWAY IF YOU VALUE YOUR SLEEP. As others mentioned in reviews - the music playing on the roof BLASTS into the night and you can hear it very loudly. Staff didn’t seem all that apologetic when I called down about anything they could do for me. We got some earplugs but the music went on and made sleeping impossible. It’s ridiculous that they put the folks going to the rooftop bar above their guests paying much more for a room. Other than that the hotel is painfully hip - the rooms look like a warehouse closet but with extremely expensive fixtures. I’ll never stay here again and advise everyone to avoid if you would like to sleep.

3rd time staying here (done NY, London, Sydney). First time (2014, 2917); 4 stars. This time (2022); 1.5 stars. The service just wasn’t there this time. On Day 2, I left at 7am and returned at 7pm, my room still wasn’t cleaned. I asked the cleaner if she could do it whilst I went for a drink with a friend that evening (wanted an early night due to jet lag) and to put new sheets on as I had ripped ones... Returned later and it still wasn’t done. The next day I asked a different cleaner if she could do it whilst I was at the Broad, she said her priority was on “stay overs”, whatever that is. Returned a few hours later and room still wasn’t done. Asked the cleaner again as I was leaving. Returned back a few hours later to change and room still wasn’t done. Rang front desk and just asked for fresh towels, she said sure. 45 minutes later, no towels. Call again, and no towels show up. I was there for 3 days, room was not done once, and no fresh towels. Not sure what the break down was but I was definitely asking. Room is also starting to get run down, carpet is dirty, bed sheets were ripped, and just general dirt.

It is what it is. I wanted to give a 3.5 but can't in the app, and figured I'd go up instead of down. My TV wasn't working the last day of my stay and they took a fee off my bill and gave me a free drink ticket.

I’ve stayed in the Ace hotel in different states & cities. This was my first time in the one in L.A. and I am puzzled to see the good reviews. The rooms are awfully small, there is no door on the shower, the carpet is a poop beige colour, the chair is like a public middle school one, there is no paintings on the walls but instead exposed sheet rock and there is rust and mold. Photos speak for themselves. Not sure what is the decor angle: homeless chic? Reserved a King room and was given a queen with the promise “that you have the best room in the hotel”. The rooftop is open the the public, and let me tell you: what a dodgy crowd. I felt borderline unsafe in my own hotel. Ghetto Doesn’t begin to describe the crowd. They seem to mix all in in one bucket with awful results: zen palms springs+DTLA hipster+hippity hoppy club crowd but don’t hit the mark at any. Giving 2 stars for the staff being super nice and the room being daily cleaned. Avoid.

I truly loved the room and the attention to detail in the restoration of the building! Restaurant‘s service and food was outstanding! Day 3, I was not very impressed with the manager and her poor customer service. She was very “as a matter of fact” demeanor towards me. She was also passive aggressive with me as I was pulled away by her actions. I was referred to the fine print on the website. Do further directions. When I went to the fine print, there was nothing noting my question. If I interacted with the manager when I checked in; I would have declined and went to another hotel. With three rooms, dinner and breakfast we dropped around $4,000. Next time, I will take my money to another hotel. I would suggest the same or I hope you do not interact with the manager.

Just stayed again for the second time this past May, and Michael and Michelle made my stay so welcoming and inviting. They make me want to stay at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles everything I come down!
