The ace hotel is a decent place to stay in downtown LA, as long as you're okay with the kind of hipster style of it. The beds are low to the ground but comfortable, and they have decent pillows. The bathroom doors do not lock which CAN be an issue sometimes, but not always. I've stayed there twice in the past 5 years or so and is stay there again if I was looking for another hotel in that area.
