I’d love to give this hotel 3 stars, but it’s hard to ignore the feeling that some of the 5-star reviews are fake.
The good: great location near Little Tokyo and Koreatown, and check-in was easy with the access code system.
The bad: it felt like we got catfished. Our room looked nothing like the photos. One of the two elevators was broken the entire stay, and the maintenance elevator — which reaches every floor — didn’t even need a key or code. The carpet was covered in stains, and the mix of black walls and green floors gave major “Victorian swamp” vibes. The shower door didn’t close, there was no curtain, and water temperature changed constantly. The lights flickered when I used the hair dryer, and the street noise went on until 2 a.m. (thankfully they left earplugs).
Worst of all, when we texted about the stains, the concierge said they’d “inspect” the room to make sure we didn’t cause them — but couldn’t give a time. We were told to be ready all day for someone to just show up.
Overall, unless you’re desperate for a cheap stay, I’d recommend finding another hotel.
