Super fun story. I arrived at the hotel around noon on a Wednesday. Early check-in wasn't available for the premier room I selected (no big deal). I was offered a downgraded room if I wanted to check in immediately. I politely declined, specifically because I had been traveling for a week and was looking forward to the bath in the premier unit. I then checked my bags with the front desk and went about my workday.
I received a message at 3:30pm saying my room was available. At this point I was done with work (EST) so I was across town visiting family. I returned to the hotel around 9pm, ready to check into my room.

The attached video shows the room I walked into, which was clearly skipped and not cleaned.
I returned to the front desk and they gave me the only other room that was available that night, which was a double queen. "Okay," I thought, "at least I'll have a hot shower." NOPE. There was no hot water. I turned it all the way up, waited a minute or so, got into a lukewarm shower for about 6 minutes, got out, freezing, and went to bed.

The following morning upon checkout, I had one helpful staff member named Michael, who was the same person who checked my bag at 11am the day before. He told me he was truly sorry, and that they were originally only going to give me a $30 refund as this was the price difference between rooms. But he got them to get me a $100 refund. Michael and the barista at the coffee shop are probably the only things I appreciated about this stay.
The original room I booked was $235 plus $68 tax for a total of $303. I was refunded the $100 from the $303. So even with the refund, I ended up paying $203 for a room with no hot water. I find that unacceptable. If you're going to refund me $100, do it on the room rate of the room that I actually stayed in, not the room I stepped into and was dirty.
They also never sent me a folio/receipt from my stay, something that is typically standard for a hotel to do. I had to call this morning and ask for one.
While on the phone I also requested that they look into anything further they could do to remedy the situation, and they essentially replied in an email saying, "No, the $100 instead of $30 was the best we could do."
Don't stay here. This used to be an ACE hotel and was bought by Kasa. One of my co-workers who stayed at ACE in the past said not to risk Kasa because it was probably not going to be as good. I should've listened.
